It had been days, after the small chat with Yeong-gi and none of the two brothers came back. He was sure it was Jaesung's doing. Nothing was perfect in Minki's life, not ideal in what he had in mind but it was barrable. He honestly didn't think he would be able to easily let Jieun be around two of his brothers, especially Yeong-gi.
He sighed as he dragged the suitcases to the bottom floor. Jieun hopped down each steps as Jaesung drove up in his fancy looking car. It was a bit embarrassing, a rich looking brother picking up his broke single father younger brother up to visit their hometown. "Hey there, Minnie!" He shouted happily as he opened the door for Jieun to hop in to which she did so elegantly.
"Jaesung, thanks for this." He spoke softly as Jaesung helped Jieun with her car seat. He gave her a snack which reviewed a glare for Minki. "No problem, you were always my favorite after all." Jaesung spoke with a slight smile. Minki blinked. He was confused. "I am?" Jaesung chuckled at the response. "Listen," they both got in the car and drove off. "I know I'm not the great older brother, especially when we were younger," Minki gave a slight chuckle. "But you truly love us all, even when we hurt you so much," he turned to the hat wearing brother. "So how could I not consider you my favorite? After all, you did sneak me candy when I was studying."
His hands gripped the steering wheel. "You even helped me stop killing animals. I still feel terrible about them." Minki hummed as he rubbed his throat. There was silence as Jaesung stared at the scarred neck. "He feels terrible about it." He spoke up making the other flinch at the mentioning of him. "Did you speak to him?" "I did. I told him you were okay, around good people, and I didn't know if you wanted me to talk about Jieun so I kept quiet." He quickly reported.
Minki gave a slight nod. "She's waiting... Isn't she?" His fingers pulled at his nails trying to calm his racing mind. He was terrified. "... I think so. She was overly excited to see you again." He lightly smacked his hands making him pull them away. "Has... Has she ever hurt you, Ujin?" The name slipped. Minki didn't mind, it was one time and Jaesung had done his best to make him comfortable.
"Yes."
The car ride was quiet the entire time. Jaesung didn't know what to say nor did he know what to do. He now understood why he hid Jieun, why he was so afraid of taking her back, and realized how truly obsessed Eunbi was. He felt disgusted. They all had let her into their house, left her alone with the younger Ujin many times not knowing what could've happened. "It's fine. She wasn't as bad as the island." He leaned against the glass of the window. "She loved me. Even if it wasn't the best type of love, she made it barrable."
A deep sigh fell from his lips. "Unfortunately, I don't feel worthy loving someone. My perspective of love is broken and warped," Jaesung hands shook hearing the words flow out if his brother's mouth. "I love someone, Jaesung. I love them so much and I've been such an asshole for so long. I beat him, insulted him, and I even had sex with others knowing he would take care of me the next day." Jaesung didn't say nothing, he only listened. That's all he could do, everything Minki held in was flowing out.
Was it because he was nervous going back to the island? Maybe? But Jaesung didn't judge. How Minki viewed love was definitely flawed and it was not only his fault as an older brother but it was his family's too.
Dul, Ujin, or Minki. None of the names he gave himself had an answer. He wasn't Dul, he wasn't Ujin, nor was he Minki. He was just a boy unsure if he was fit to love someone as precious as he thought of them.
Though, out of all the names, he preferred Minki. He couldn't except himself as Dul, a playboy or Ujin, a sacrifice.
"I want him so bad." At this point Minki was crying, the fat tears rolled down his face as he couldn't stop himself from talking. "Why did it have to him? Why, why, why, why?" He whispered as he felt a hand petting his head. "Don't question it so much. You should tell him all that, you keep it inside, Minki. It's not healthy," he took a deep breath. "Eunbi, she wasn't a good first relationship for you. That doesn't mean all your future relationships will be like that."
He gave a soft smile. "You're talking about that suit guy, aren't you?" A small chuckle left his lips. "I saw how he looks at you, Minki. He will love you like how you were meant to be. If you're too scared to start a relationship, I'm sure he'll wait, but remember." Minki looked up at Jaesung, his eyes were teary and red. "Don't keep him waiting too long. Not everyone has that much patience, so please. Make up your mind before you end up hurt again." He turned on the heater as it was getting cold.
"Get some sleep, we'll be at the dock soon." He whispered as he handed his his coat to use as a blanket. "You'll figure this out. You're an amazing man, a better father and would be a wonderful person to love. I hope you remember that." He whispered as Minki slowly fell asleep.
By the time Minki and Jieun woke up, they were parks in a transport ship and got out of the car. "Oh you're awake." Jaesung smile while rasing up a bag. "I was gonna wake you up. Come on let's go." Jieun whined in her sleep as her father got her out and walked over to the tables. He sat her down in a high chair before getting out her food. "Eat." He signed as she nodded. He didn't feel like talking right now.
"Eh, Minki. You know sign language?" Jieun gave a tired giggle. "Papa couldn't talk. His throat is injured. It used to be bad bad. Threw up blood... While talking." She mumbled while sipping on the cold milk. "Papa... Can speak now... I'm happy... I can heard papa's voice." She mumbled as Minki stared happily. "You cried so much as a baby, I didn't even need to talk for you." Jieun giggled as she translated what he had said.
Jaesung chuckled as he sipped on his espresso. Minki hummed as he one shot the drink making Jaesung sigh. "If you keep doing that you're going to get sick." Minki gave a slight smile. "Good then he can take care of me." He muttered under his breath. "Ugh, people in love are so annoying." Jaesung leaned his face into his hand with a bored look. "You probably can't find someone to love, huh, uncle. You'll be alone forever, how sad."
Minki bursted out laughing while Jaesung looked shocked at the words. "I- that's your father's personality!" He shouted in disbelief. He looked at Minki who was trying to hide his giggles. "Stop laughing! That was mean!" Jieun smiled as she continued to eat.
