CHAPTER ONE New Kid In Hawkins ╚════∘◦☆◦∘════╝
LUNA HAD NEVER been the new kid before, her entire life was in California and now she was stuck in this small town in Hawkins Indiana for god knows how long. The only good thing about it was that she had her sister with her, the two of them were attached at the hip and had been since she was born. Her sister was one of the most important people in her life, she would protect Max like her life depended on it.
However, that wasn't the entirety of her family. There was her mom, her stepdad and stepbrother Billy Hargrove, she and her sister both had a mutual hatred for the curly haired nicotine scented dirty blonde.
And yes, they had an actual reason for hating him. He was a douchebag who was constantly treating them like shit since the day he joined their family. Luna tried to be nice to him but he just pushed her and Max around like it was their fault that he lived with their family now.
And then there was her stepdad, to be honest the only thing she knew about the guy was that he was abusive to Billy, the walls were very thin (also they weren't allowed to close doors in their house) and atleast a couple times a week she would hear a slapping sound throughout the hallway.
Somedays when it got really bad she would hold her sister in her arms and stroke her hair as Billy and his father argued and fought in his room, the only thing that could stop them was her mom begging her stepdad to leave Billy alone.
So, she stayed away from the older man her mother decided to marry as much as she could.
When they got to their new house in Hawkins and they picked their rooms Luna decided to grab her sister and snatch her brother's keys before heading out of the house. The two of them drove around town to see what they had to do around there, the red head grinned at her younger sister when she stumbled upon a bright neon sign showing an arcade.
To make their move a bit easier she decided to use half of her allowance from the job she had back in California and spent it on game tokens for her and Max. They spent their first night in Hawkins punching buttons and screaming at game screens until they got hungry, she promised Max she'd get her a milkshake if she got the highest score on Dig Dug and they left the arcade with MADMAX on the top of the scoreboard.
And while the night before was lots of fun, the next morning was the exact opposite. The first thing she heard was her brother yelling as he stomped into her room, she woke up to him screaming about her taking his car keys. She groaned as she placed her hand over her already aching temple and sat up leaning on her elbows.
"Shut up, Billy!" She snapped as she ripped her blankets off her body, she rose from her bed and stood infront of her angry stepbrother. "I took your keys last night, boo-fucking-hoo." She walks over to her dresser, grabs the keys and tosses them at him, "Now get out of my room!"
