◤CHAPTER THIRTY-SIX◥ ( time's slipping away)
AFTER A LONG drive from the Wheeler's, Steve pulled up at the neighborhood trailer park, Max and Luna unbuckled their seatbelts as he pulled up to their trailer home. The same home that neither of them have been to in awhile, not since finding out about Eddie. She hoped they hadn't made their mother worry, that was the last thing that she wanted right now.
"You guys gotta make this quick." Steve tells them, "We're running low on time."
Luna nodded, "Of course."
"Give me 20 seconds." Max retorted as they both climbed out of the vehicle. As they both walked to their house the younger sister glanced at the oldest, "You didn't have to come with me, you know."
Luna shakes her head, "You're crazy if you think I am letting you go anywhere all by yourself, Max."
The younger redhead nods, "Thank you. For coming, I mean."
She wrapped her arm around Max's shoulder, giving her a small smile and small shoulder squeeze as she held her close. "Of course."
The two sister walked into the trailer and Luna followed behind her as she walked into the livingroom, from what she could tell her mother wasn't home, she figured she probably at a shift from one of her many jobs.
She watched as Max pulled the other letters out of her bag, her eyes lingered on the names on them, but then her heart clenched at the one with the word "dad" on it. It had been so long since either of them had seen their father, she hated to think that Max felt that she would never get to see him again.
After spreading out the letter on the table Max zipped up her bag and stood up from the ground, but then she looked out the window and just stood there. Luna was confused for a moment and she goes to speak to her, but then Max just walks past her.
