CHAPTER THIRTEEN
The Aftermath
╚════ ════╝

DAYS LATER AFTER the debacle of the Mind Flayer, it was the night that the kids in Hawkins Middle have been buzzing about for weeks. It was the night of The Snowball. The last few weeks for Luna have been strangely normal, she had gotten so used to the chaos that when life went back to normal she was always expecting something to happen, but it seemed that all was right in the world once more, almost as if nothing ever happened.

After the nights that she spent with Steve Harrington, she found herself hanging around the dark haired teenager alot. Of course she was closer with Nancy and Jonathan, and she even managed to continue her friendship with Robin without disclosing any information about what happened recently. But Steve... Steve was someone that she was with more than anyone. Everything felt effortless with him, talking to him was as easy as breathing.

If there was one thing that came out the life threatening events with the Mind Flayer and his army that she was thankful for, it was her friendship with Steve. Although, she found herself wondering if a friendship is really all she wanted with him.

She tried to talk herself out of it, she really did. But she couldn't help the flush in her cheeks, the warmth that fills her chest whenever she sees him so much as look her direction. It didn't matter how hard she tried to convince herself to feel something other than non-platonic feelings for him, she just became more fond of the taller brunette with every day that seemed to pass.

"Lulu?" Her sister called her, Luna quickly pulled herself out of her thoughts and refocused herself on the task at hand; braiding her sister's hair as she helped her get ready for The Snowball tonight.

Luna sighed, "Sorry, Maxie." She shakes her head, "Just got lost in thought, I guess."

Max smirked in the mirror infront of the two in the bathroom, "Thinking about Steve, again?"

"No." Luna rolled her eyes, "You thinking about Lucas, again?"

Max flushed almost instantly, the skin of her cheeks painting themselves a light red. "How do you know about that?"

Luna grinned as she braided the strawberry blonde tresses, "You talk in your sleep, walked in on you mumbling about Lucas with a smile on your face as you slept one morning when I was coming in to wake you for school."

"I—" Max's entire face was flushed red now, "That was..." Then, she gave up with a heavy sigh as Luna lightly squeezed her shoulders as she offered comfort when she finished her hair. "Okay, I admit. I might have a tiny thing for Lucas."
