◤CHAPTER THIRTY-TWO◥ (framed by the unexplained )
THE BUSY DAY continues, with customers going in and out as she helps them find what they're looking for and gets them checked out. As she was on the computer behind the cash wrap counter she looked up when she heard the bell at the door chime, then her eyes widen when she noticed her sister walking through the doors with Dustin at her side.
"Max? Dustin? What are you guys doing here?"
"Never mind that." Dustin walks over to the counter and leans forward, "How many phones do you guys have?"
"Dude, someone was murdered." Steve gave him a look like he was ready to throttle him.
"Yeah, we know. How many phones do you have?" Max questioned.
"Uh, two."
"Why?" Steve asked.
"Well, technically three, if you count Keith's in the back" Robin corrected her.
"Yeah, three works." Max nodded to Dustin.
Luna frowned in confusion, "Guys, why do you need phones?" Instead of answering her question, Dustin placed his bag on the counter.
"What are you doing?" Steve demanded, and in reply Dustin shoved his bag over the surface. "What are you--"
"Dustin! What the hell?" Luna exclaimed.
"My pile!" Robin complained as his bag knocked down her perfectly made pile of double VHS tapes. Then as if that wasn't bad enough, he hops over the counter, knocking over Steve's own pile of tapes.
"No, no, no! My tapes! Dude." Steve cried out, "What are you doing, man?"
"Excuse me, Luna, I need to borrow this." Dustin told her while she gaped at him, but nonetheless she moved out of his way and let him take control of the monitor.
"Can someone please tell me what the hell is going on?"
"I'm setting up base of operations here." Dustin responded, his fingers flying on the keyboard.
