CHAPTER FOURTY-SIX ( this is not the end )
LUNA, Lucas, and Erica hadn't known of the damage done to the town until they got to the hospital, she was in the waiting room signing paperwork for Max when the news showed the leftover destruction that the Upside Down and Vecna left it the town's wake. Half the town was on fire, there were rifts from the cracked ground splitting the metropolis in four separate parts. Just like Nancy told them, it would.

Citizen's houses were ripped right through, the town's library was set aflame, there nurses as well as paramedics coming in and out of the hospital with a new gurney with someone on it nearly every second. And according to the news, there were hundreds of injured people in critical condition, and many others missing or presumed dead.
She was horrified, and felt so fucking guilty. Not only were they trying to save their selves, but the town as well. They had one goal, and they barely even did that. Her sister died and Vecna's plan was set in stone, he personally brought hell on earth to Hawkins. Then Max came back to life by what she could only describe as a fucking miracle, and suddenly all of the interdimensional chaos ceases.
She didn't know if that meant Max coming back again permanently put a stop to Vecna's plan, or even if her coming out of his trance meant that he was dead now. But there was also the possibility of her coming back meaning that his plan was only temporarily stopped, and that he was somehow still alive somewhere.
It really killed her to not know the specific outcome of their plan, or how anyone was doing in the aftermath.
For all she knew, all of her friends and her boyfriend could very well be dead right now. She didn't know anything, and it was driving her up the fucking wall.
Not to mention she had no idea where her mom was, and that's what motivated her to get up and walk out of the hospital to go to the phone that was placed outside. She told Lucas and Erica that she would be back and to come and get her if there was any news on Max, then she headed out the doors and made her way to the telephone booth.
