HAZEL

"I think he won a BRIT last night." Charlotte informed me as she lay under my covers, scrolling through her phone. She was being an absolute nuisance; I had told her plenty of times that I didn't want to know anything about Adonis, but it was like she purposely chose to ignore me. Out of all the girls, she was the only person who I had confided in when it came to my emotions and how things had ended between us. Unfortunately for me, Charlotte was a firm believer that Adonis and I were supposed to be together, and she was a massive Adonis Stan. Sometimes I had to take a step back and question whose side she was really on.

"That's nice." I answered monotonously. It wasn't that I didn't care - it was really quite the opposite. I cared so much more than I was supposed to, as someone who was an ex girlfriend.

"It is nice. It would've been nicer if you congratulated him." She pointed out.

Choosing to ignore her statement, I whipped out my phone and started scrolling through any messages I hadn't gotten the chance to look at. We had been back in England for two weeks now, and tonight I was finally supposed to be seeing Raheem after trying to organise a night together since I got back. However, he hadn't messaged to let me know if we were still going out, so I wasn't sure what my plans were for tonight.

"Don't ignore me. You know I'm right. Look at his acceptance speech from last night." Charlotte shoved her phone in my face as the video on Instagram started playing.

As soon as my eyes fell on his frame in the video, my heart literally skipped a beat and my breathing stopped. The chocolate of his skin was absolutely stunning under the lights of the stage. As always, he was rocking a fresh trim and the waves were reminiscent of the ocean; he was wearing black suede Louboutin loafers on his feet - I knew because I was the one who bought them for him. I remember him telling me he hated the 'Dandelion spikes' edition, so I bought him those instead.

His outfit was all black. From the trousers on his bottom half, to the shirt which was showing a portion of his chest, he just looked absolutely delicious. The single iced-out Cuban around his neck, laying against the warm chocolate of his chest, topped off the look. All I could think of was how much bliss we could've experienced last night if we were still together. Without a shadow of a doubt, there would've been a lot of passionate love-making.

"Firstly..." he started, his deep voice projecting through the microphone. He was obviously in disbelief that he had won, but I wasn't sure why he was so surprised. His consistency and dedication to music was admirable; nobody deserved awards more than he did. "I wanna say a massive thank you to everyone who's made it possible for me to be here tonight." A bright smile was etched on his face as the crowd exploded in a loud cheer. "I've got my mum with me tonight. Mummy thank you for all your support, you're the best. Thank you to my incredible team - you guys make my dreams a reality every single day. Thank you to my fans - you guys keep me motivated." He admitted as he looked down at the award in his hand with a proud smile. "You know... I lost so much last year. So so much. But through everything the music has been my biggest blessing. My closest people know I'm speaking from the heart when I say music changed everything... thank you to everyone who supports the art that I put out. You lots are quite literally still changing my life!"

The crowds cheers were deafening as Adonis gave the presenter a side hug and made his way back down to his seat. What a moment this must've been for him. He had earned it.

"See! That was such a heartfelt message." Charlotte expressed in a joyful manner. "You should text him."

"I'm going out tonight." I told her in an attempt to end this conversation. I was terrified at the idea of getting attached to him again. Nothing was harder than breaking things off with him.
