ADONIS
My head was scrambled.
It was Monday afternoon and I was somewhere random on the outskirts of Wales, in a big ass mansion that was secluded from other houses. There were no neighbours for at least 2 miles. This morning I woke up to messages from Hazel telling me we had a 4 hour car ride ahead of us and to pack a bag for 3 nights. I knew I was seeing her today; she already let me know she had something planned from last week, but I wasn't expecting anything like this.
I also wasn't expecting socials to go as crazy as they did with the release of Hazel's interview. It was like everyone had an opinion that they just had to vocalise, and funnily enough, Marcus hadn't said a word yet. Hazel hadn't really spoken on it too tough, but I knew she'd seen comments and watched videos on people's take on the situation.
The house we were staying at was beautiful. Majestic in architecture, brilliant in its design. This house had me thinking of the kind of house I wanted to have with my wife and kids one day. I didn't want any of my children feeling funny or embarrassed bringing their friends around. I knew what it felt like to be embarrassed of the state and conditions of the environment you lived in - I wanted different for my kids.
"Oh my gosh there's no curtains." Hazel noted as she held my hand and dragged me through the house. She looked good today - sexier than usual. Her hair was tied back and straightened - something like that. I asked her about it when I saw her in the morning and she started getting into the specifics - something to do with clip-ins. I stopped listening because all I could focus on were her lips. Her face was bare and her clear honey-like skin was was shining tonight. It was a wonder to look at. I just fell in love with her over and over each time I laid eyes on her.
The reason my head was scrambled was because this girl had me wanting more with her. I wanted a future with her, kids with her... a family. My emotions ran deep and it was no longer a thing where we could 'see where things would go'. I was serious about her. Sometimes I could barely believe I had the capacity to feel this way about her because teenage me never imagined I'd care about anyone this way. Marriage and kids would've been my last thought especially with the kind of life I was living back then.
"You look so perfect." The words came tumbling out. As someone who thrived off of good communication and words of affirmation, expressing my feelings was something that came naturally to me. With Hazel I had noticed that although she had gotten better with communication, if you wanted to get a better understanding of how she was feeling, then you needed to sit her down and get into deep conversation with her. However, unless she was ready to get into specifics, then the conversation would go nowhere.
Hazel twisted her head in my direction and immediately a strong blush came on. "Thanks boo." She continued dragging me along with her as we discovered all the different parts of the house; the Earth tones and floor to ceiling windows gave the place an elegant, sophisticated aesthetic. The incredible views from the windows were an added bonus.
Eventually she popped into one of the bedrooms, but not before asking me to wait outside the door for a hot second. When she came out of the room, she had a wide grin on her face which naturally had me questioning what was in there.
As she had been doing since we got here, she laced our fingers once again before leading us into the room she just stepped out of.
Immediately a smile graced my lips as I took in the surroundings. There were blue rose petals all over the floor and on the bed the petals were designed into a heart. In the middle of the heart sat a silver bucket of chilled bottles - both looked like they were champagne. "Yo..." I chuckled into my hand. The room looked so nice you would've thought we were celebrating my birthday. "What's all this for?" I chuckled in disbelief.
