It was Friday today, exactly one week since both Adonis and Hazel had seen each other, but in that time Adonis had been doing his best to start conversations and make sure that she was doing alright. It wasn't that Hazel was trying to be stand-offish, but she didn't know how to get back to the easy going friendship they used to share. It would definitely take her some time.
On top of that, she had been busier than she anticipated at the beginning of the week. Not only had she done everything she planned to do, but she had been able to squeeze in more meetings than initially planned. The team she was working with to produce her lashes had called in two urgent meetings with her, because the lash glue she had proposed for her products contained a chemical which many people with sensitive skin were sure to have an allergic reaction to. Because of this, they were having to manufacture new packaging for the alternative glue to fit in the package, and this would push her release date back by at least two weeks.
On top of that, she had been throwing around ideas of potentially opening her own salon in her team meetings. Even though things were moving forward, there seemed to be a lot of things going wrong.
Regardless, of her personal problems, she still kept her promise and pulled up to the address of the studio, albeit an hour later than he'd asked of her to get there. It really wasn't intentional, and there was traffic on her journey.
Stepping out of her car, she frowned at the specks of dirt she could see on her white airforces, then proceeded to cuss herself out once she noticed minimal creasing on the right trainer. She was sick and tired of replacing these particular shoes, and at this point, she was considering keeping these until they were completely done for.
The shoes tied her outfit together; the dark wash skinny jeans paired with a white oversized T-shirt and her cropped black leather jacket gave off a chilled vibe. Her jewellery was also kept to a minimum, only sporting a pair of diamond studs in her ears.Upon entering the building, and finally spotting Adonis, an uncontrollable smile graced her lips as she watched him laugh wholeheartedly about something with some guy sitting in a chair in front of a Mac.
He's probably the producer. She thought to herself.
Jordan was the first to notice Hazel's presence, and when he did, his mouth fell open as he looked her over, taking in how pretty she was. Instantly his eyebrows rose as he realised that her face was very familiar.
"Hey guys!" She waved awkwardly. "Adonis!" She snapped which instantly grabbed his attention. In fact she grabbed everyone's attention. Over to the other side, Femi, another friend of Adonis closed the bottle of coke he was drinking and turned to face her, slightly confused at who she was and what she was doing. His initial thought was that Hazel was one of his side tings who didn't respect Don's boundaries, but the reality was very different.
"What you saying?" He greeted as he made his way over to her, a gentle smile on his lips. Today he was sporting the casual look again, dressed in a grey Nike tracksuit with no jewellery present around his neck or his wrists.
He hugged her, fighting the urge to pull her back and kiss her like they had been forced to do in his video shoot. But he knew better than that, and there was no way he'd force something she didn't want. "Aye guys, this is Hazel. She's in the music video we're about to watch." He told everyone. "Hazel, that's Dice, Jordan and Femi." He pointed to each person as he said their name.
All the boys mumbled polite greetings to her, to which she smiled small. That's when Jordan realised why she looked so familiar; "You do YouTube innit? I swear I've seen you in bare music videos and that..."
Hazel confirmed his queries whilst taking a seat next to Adonis who had subconsciously mugged his boy at the thought of him knowing her. This was his friend.
