Christmas Day
HAZEL

As my mum had moved to Ghana, the only family I had left in this country were my cousins and my aunt. They invited me over for Christmas, but I chose to respectfully decline because Destiny's family invited me over, first.

I chose to wear a simple black jumpsuit which hugged whatever curves I had. As someone who had been tiny most of my life, I could confidently say I had gained weight over the last year. I never really managed to shake off the excess I put on whilst I was on birth control, because I just never had the time for the gym. My eyes rarely wondered to a size eight tag whenever I went shopping anymore, it was always at least a size ten.

My hair was braided as long faux locs which were tied in a half-up half-down situation. I went for light makeup, a brown lip and cute lashes. My black Triple S Balenciagas graced my feet to match my Balenciaga bag, however, I had already decided that after today I was going to give these shoes away. They were just too heavy to walk in.

I grabbed the two bottles of red wine I had bought, made my way to my front door, grabbed my keys, then left.

I drove to Destiny's house with a smile on my face. Drake was blasting through my speakers and the base was causing the whole vehicle to vibrate. If I had shame, I definitely wouldn't have been singing as loud as I was singing and dancing to the best of my ability in the car. I wasn't oblivious to the fact that the car in front of me was getting a free show and was probably laughing their ass off.

When I pulled up to D's house, I lowered my music dramatically and gathered my bag and the two bottles I had put in gift bags. Exiting my car, I locked the doors and stuffed the keys into the pocket of my fur jacket, whilst I walked up to her door. Destiny opened the door about twenty seconds after I knocked it, and like the curvaceous queen she is, her boobs felt like a cushion when she wrapped her arms around me and embraced the living day light out of me.

"You're just in time! My mum's just finished the gravy. I'm gonna set the table. We should be ready to eat in about fifteen minutes." She informed me as she closed the door behind us. "My other family friends are coming over a bit later, so we can stay in my room or go for a drive if you don't want to be here when they come."

"Okay no problem." I told her as I handed the bottles to her. "For you guys! Thank you for having me." I smiled.

"Girl." She brushed me off as if I was doing too much. "You're family. Thank you for these, I'm gonna show my mum."

"Ooo let me say hi to Aunty." I clapped.

We walked through the small corridor, through the living room, then into the kitchen. Her mum was in the middle of taking the white plates out of the cupboard. Destiny's younger brothers were nowhere to be seen, but her younger sister, Phoebe, was in the kitchen and she looked exhausted.

"Hey Phoebe! Hey Aunty!" I sang as I entered their presence. Phoebe was the first to come over and embrace me in a hug.

"Aww, Hazel." Aunty sang. "You look beautiful! Merry Christmas."

"Thank you Aunty, merry Christmas to you too. Thank you for inviting me."

"Don't be silly." She laughed whilst brushing me off.

"Hazel brought some wine, mum." Destiny informed her. "We're gonna set the table up now."

Destiny grabbed me by the arm and dragged me into the dining area before I could say anything else. "Bitch!" She started once everyone was out of earshot.
