CHARLOTTE
2 days later

Hazel was in my bed. I got a call from the hospital yesterday morning which was when I found out Hazel had been in an accident. The miracle of the situation was, even though the front of her car was completely damaged and the car was basically written off, Hazel only suffered a concussion. She had a few minor cuts on her cheeks and one cut on her eyebrow which required some stitches, but overall, she was okay.

She wasn't herself though. All she had done since I picked her up was sob to herself as if she was depressed. She wouldn't talk to me; all that I knew was she didn't want to go home.

I was aware that Marcus was with her when the accident happened; from my understanding, he was driving and they somehow crashed into a large truck. Marcus was fine though, I wasn't sure exactly where he was because Hazel wouldn't speak, but I knew that he didn't suffer too much either.

Something about the way her sobs got louder when I mentioned Marcus told me he was the reason for all of this. I hadn't liked the guy for a while now, but I had been stuck between trying to be a supportive friend and also being an honest one. My friend had lost everything fun and sexy about herself since she got with him, and it was actually quite upsetting to see.

I was worried about Hazel and to be quite honest, I didn't know what to do. I considered calling Destiny over, but when I brought it up to Hazel, she just shook her head as tears began streaming down her face once more.

Chioma was out of the question; she cut all of us off a while ago when she got pregnant for Marvin. She wouldn't allow us to be there for her which was quite painful for all of us because we all still loved her, even if she was dumb as shit.

I don't know why I thought it would be a good idea to bring up Don's name; I half expected her to slap the shit out of me. But to my surprise, that was the first name that made her look me in the eyes. She didn't nod or shake her head. She just looked at me.

I wasn't sure what that meant, but I took that as a sign to call Don and see if he was around.

The two of us had developed an amazing bond over the past two years. He was like a brother to me; I always found myself giving him small updates on Hazel because I knew their separation was still a sore topic to speak about, but the updates made him feel like he was still in the loop. As much as Hazel liked to pretend she wanted nothing to do with him, she never walked away when I gave her updates on him.

When I called him he was at the studio working on some music. Not only did he seem shocked that I was asking him to come and see Hazel, but he also seemed a little skeptical. The last time they saw each other face to face was last year at the BRITS and the conversation they shared was quite short.

The intercom ringing was all it took to snap me back to reality as I stood from my bed and made my way to let him in. I couldn't lie and say I wasn't nervous about how this would turn out. But at this point, any reaction was a good reaction. She hadn't moved from that bed in 24 hours and she had barely said anything. I was worried about her.

I opened my door so Don would be able to come in once he got to my floor. I could only imagine what he was feeling right about now. I wondered if he'd be able to do anything to help.

His footsteps were heard before I smelt him. And I smelt him before I saw him. The cologne he was wearing today was super strong, so strong that I was sure his scent would remain long after he'd left.

"Sis." He said as he entered the apartment and gave me a side hug. "Where is she?" His voice sounded troubled, disturbed. Worry was written all over his features as he rubbed his chin in anticipation.
