Adonis sat in the studio as he he bopped his head up and down to the beat of the song he had just recorded. Dice, his producer, clicked away on the Mac, working his magic on the track as he always did.

It had been a crazy week, and Adonis couldn't wait to go home and just sleep away all his exhaustion. Before coming to the studio today, he'd made a visit to Pentonville where his brother was currently serving his sentence, and they'd had a heartfelt conversation about where Adonis saw himself in the next couple of years. Adonis had made sure to remind his brother that once his sentence was over, he'd always be around to put him on. They were family, and despite all the negative things people had to say about Eros, Adonis would never leave his older brother hanging. That was his family.

Now, as he sat in the studio listening to the track he'd just finished, he found himself analysing his past, taking in how much he had grown and achieved in the last year or so. He could only thank God and his mum. He knew she'd stayed up on countless nights praying for him whilst she worked the night shift at the hospital. He knew that he hadn't been the easiest child to raise, nor had his brother, but neither of them had ever really had a good example of what a man should be. He couldn't remember ever seeing his dad on his birthdays or impotant holidays even though he was very much in the same city as his sons. He had left their mother and married an Eastern European woman so he could get papers and live in the UK legally since she had attained citizenship after moving to England. The plan was never to stay with her forever, truthfully he never wanted to be tied down, but after he accidently got the Eastern European woman preganant, he had decided to stay in the marriage and be there for them.

"Yo this tracks done. It's gonna do a madness when it drops." Dice smirked as he rolled his chair away from his desk and he stuck a lolly into into his mouth. There was no doubt that he was a sweet tooth. "The albums pretty much done now. You ready for it to drop?"

"Fam." Adonis grinned as he whipped out his phone. "I've been ready. Every song on there is a banger." He had never felt more proud of his work ethic. When he told his team he wanted to release his first album six months ago, even Adonis himself wasn't sure how smooth of a ride it was going to be, but he worked hard and rolled with any punches that came his way.

As he unlocked his phone and checked the thread of messages between himself and Hazel, he furrowed his brow in confusion. She had not replied to any of his messages in the last day and a half, but when he checked her Instagram she was still posting promo stuff.

Sighing, he locked his phone again and slid it back in his pockets. He thought they were past this whole 'failing to communicate' thing. She was doing the exact same thing that she'd grilled him over.

"Why you stressing?" Dice chuckled lightly. With the way Adonis was sighing and clenching his jaw, it was obvious that something was bothering him.

"Hazel's moving mad." He kissed his teeth as he cracked his knuckles. "I'm not even trying to be over the top with her... I'm not trying to overwhelm her. But I don't get her man. She made a fuss about me not communicating with her, but she's doing the exact same thing."

Dice listened attentively, before giving his genuine honest opinion. "Fam, she's got her own money y'know. Don't be surprised if she doesn't cling to you like most of these thirsty girls do. She's busy, money haffi make." He explained.

Adonis released an even heavier sigh than before. Even though Dice had told no word of a lie, it did nothing to ease the slight ache in his gut. Although Hazel's failure to open and reply back to any of his messages didn't mean she wasn't interested in pursuing anything with him, he couldn't deny the fact that it made him feel uneasy and kept him on the edge of his seat. Was someone else pursuing her too? Was she genuinely busy, or was she just taking the piss? Was she going to end up making him feel like a mug? Was it even worth him stressing himself over the situation at hand?
