HAZEL

"What the fuck?" My eyes shot open at the sound of Adonis cussing.

It was late into the afternoon, but we ended up sleeping in because we didn't get any sleep until the early hours of the morning. I did actually have something planned for today but we had missed it, so I was thinking we could go exploring instead.

"What babe?" I asked as I sat myself up and covered my mouth with my hand. Yawning was inevitable. Don was sitting on the edge of the bed in his boxers, shirtless as he stared into his phone with a horrified look. "What's happened?" I asked again as I pulled the covers tighter to cover my bare chest. I was becoming worried.

"What the fuck?" He asked again as he scrolled on his screen.

"Adonis!" I snapped. He was making me anxious and I really didn't appreciate it. "Did someone die?" I really hoped that wasn't the case but with the shock on his face and his continuous cussing, I couldn't be sure.

"Yo - I need a minute." He sounded stressed, irritated and annoyed all in one. I could tell there was a problem but his tone rubbed me the wrong way.

"Don't 'yo' me. I'm not mandem." I snapped back.

"Hazel, this ain't the time. I said I need a minute." He restated whilst standing to his feet. He didn't look back as he walked out of the room, phone still in hand.

What the actual hell? I couldn't figure out if I should be upset with that interaction or not. It didn't help that I was worried and he hadn't made an effort to let me know whether or not everyone close to us was okay.

Naturally, I snatched my phone from under my pillow and went straight onto Instagram to see what the latest news was. With my teeth biting into my bottom lip and my heart beating a little louder than usual, I continued scrolling through my feed until I was met with posts from the previous night. Nothing was new or shocking, which meant that it was likely nobody had passed away or gotten seriously hurt.

"What the fuck?" I heard Adonis question aggressively. He was definitely on the phone. That tone. I had to admit, it shook me a little. It was the reason I stepped out of bed with the covers still wrapped around my frame and lightly crept out of the room and along the hallway to the living space. "A'ght. We have no business with each-other then. Hop off my line." He tore the phone from his ear and hit the red button to end the conversation.

I stood there for a minute, trying to read his body language or put two and two together from what I heard in the conversation.

Don released a very deep sigh and brushed his hands down his face. When his eyes finally landed on my questioning one's, all I could see where a bunch of emotions filling his brown orbs. I couldn't pin point how he was feeling.

"What is it?" I asked sceptically. His nose flared for a couple of seconds, right before I noticed tears gathering in his eyes. My heart broke for him instantly, and I didn't even know why yet.

"She aborted my baby."
