CHOIR ROOM
The New Directions were sitting on the risers, the following day, listening to Will about how they could no longer sing religious songs during class.
Tina: "Last week we were too sexy. This week we're too religious. We can't win."
Brittany: "Now I know what Miley feels like."
Rachel: "The real tragedy here is that I found the most perfect spiritual song to sing this week and now it's been torn away from me like Sophie's daughter."
Will: "Guys, you can still sing whatever songs you like that sum up your feelings about God, about spirit. You just can't do it on school time."
Santana: "I hope you're happy, Kurt."
Kurt: "Having the week of my life, actually."
Kelly: "Back off Kurt. He didn't sign the official complaint papers anyways, I did."
Tina: "Wait, what?"
Quinn: "Why would you do that?" she asked and as Kelly was about to speak Will cut her off.
Will: "Guys, back off, okay? They both had every right to speak their minds."
Mercedes: "Look, Kurt, we're sympathetic to what you're going through, but you and Kelly siding with Miss Sylvester isn't gonna do anyone any good."
Kurt: "It's doing me some good. Now I don't have to sit around listening to all you mental patients talk about how's there's a God when I know there isn't one." he said as he grabbed his things and then left. Kelly, who was unbelievable irritated by that point then stood up and walked to the center of the room.
Kelly: "How can you be so insensitive?"
Rachel: "I'm sorry, how are we being insensitive?"
Kelly: "You guys are so wrapped up with the fact that you can't sing the songs you wanted to sing, that you couldn't even see how much our friend was hurting."
Tina: "We see that."
Kelly: "Do you really? Because as soon as he said that he didn't believe in God, you all got on his case about how wrong that was."
Will: "Kelly,"
Kelly: "No. With the exception of Finn, the rest of you don't know what it's like to only have one living parent. And I get that some of you have some estranged relationships with at least one of your parents but that's not the same as losing a parent. And knowing, that if anything ever happen to the one you have left that you would be all alone."
Mercedes: "All we wanted to do was help him."
Kelly: "But why couldn't you see that with the way you were helping him it just ended up making him more uncomfortable."
