GYMNASIUM

That afternoon, Kelly sat on the bottom bleacher behind Sue and Becky as the Cheerios practiced their routine for regionals, that was set to Katy Perry's 'California Gurls'.

Sue: "I'm bored." she says into her megaphone after their performance, "Ladies, I am at a loss. Brittany, please remind me of how I single-handedly put cheerleading on the map."

Brittany: "In 1979, you directed a made-for-TV movie about the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders called 'The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders'."

Kelly: "I'm pretty sure Bruce Bilson directed that." she muttered under her breathe, while getting up and walking closer to Sue and Becky.

Sue: "That is correct," she told the blonde before continuing, "and in the meantime, what's changed?"

Quinn: "Personal grooming habits?"

Kelly: "Let's see, the Challenger exploded, the Berlin Wall fell, hairstyles have drastically evolved from perms, thank god, a woman finally became a Supreme Court Justice, CDs became a thing, what else, oh—"

Sue: "What's changed is," she says cutting off Kelly's rambling, "I have completely lost interest and, ladies, I blame you. Becky, more silicone falsies."

Becky: "Got it, Coach." she tells her before following Sue's order.

Sue: "You will each enhance your bust with an additional pair of chicken cutlets in an attempt to add some jiggle to what is the most boring routine I have ever witnessed."

Kelly: "I don't understand how, you literally have them dancing with fire. This is, hands down, the most elaborate routine the Cheerios have ever done."

Quinn: "We're shoo-ins at regionals next week, and we're the favorite to win at nationals."

Sue: "Yet I am still so very bored! Even things I used to think were hilarious, case in point, Sandbags slap yourself with a chicken cutlet. Now slap Brittany. See? Not even a chuckle."

Quinn: "The problem is you keep trying to make a bigger and bigger spectacle. No matter how hard we try, we can't make a routine work unless you find a way to make it interesting for you. You have to find a way to top yourself."

Sue: "Q, you just may have a point. But to be sure, slap yourself with a chicken cutlet."
