"Did you not mean it," Drew inquires.

Jewel bites the corner of her lip then pulls Andrew's arm over her shoulder. She can't help but notice the way his fingertips just barely graze over the top of her chest. Taking a small breath, Jewel looks up at her company. All she can do is gawk at how pretty he is as he stares down at her with bright green eyes.

"I meant what I said," she replies.

"Do you regret saying it?"

"No, I just feel like I shouldn't have said it."

Andrew lets out a small sigh but doesn't say anything else. Instead he focuses on the way her breathing makes his fingers lightly brush over the top of her chest. He knew that if she moved more than an inch upward, his hand would be down her shirt. Slowly he begins to retract his arm from around her, then places it on the back of the couch.

As he turns his focus to the barely audible television, he hears Jewel yawn next to him. She leans her head on his chest and yawns again. Her body is shaking slightly against his, so Andrew begins to rub her arm to warm her up just a little.

"Do you want a blanket," he asks.

Jewel hums and gives a small nod in reply. Sitting up, she lets him off the couch then waits for him to return. When he does, she stands up, a bit unbalanced, and motions for him to sit down. He gives her a quizzical look, but sits down. She chuckles then shakes her head at him.

"Lay down," she explains, sleepily.

Without question he does as she tells him, and lays down across the couch. To his surprise, she climbs on top him, with her legs on either side of his hips. Pulling the cover over the both of them, Jewel rests her head on his chest again. She closes her eyes, wrapping her arms around his torso, and sighs.

Andrew, not really sure what to do with his hands, puts them behind his head then continues to watch television. He tries not to move when Jewel intertwines her legs with his, and holds him tighter. The show he's watching comes to an end, and he shuts the tv off, blanketing them in darkness. Just as Andrew closes his eyes, Jewel squeezes him, causing them to open again.

"Cuddle me," she mumbles.

Closing his eyes again, he moves his arms from behind his head to wrap them around her. One of the rests on her lower back, the other across her shoulders, as if protecting her from some thing. Her small frame molds perfectly with his as they fall asleep in each others arms.

"Goodnight, beautiful."

"Goodnight, beautiful."

When Jewel wakes up, she doesn't even open her eyes. Opening her eyes would mean she would have to let go of her dream. She'd have to let go of her dream of Andrew holding her, and wake up to a lonely reality. Her mind must really hate her, for her to have a dream so perfect right before she wakes up.

Jewel begins to stretch and grabs the pillow above her head. Why did she even fall asleep on the couch, it felt like she was sleeping on a pile of rocks. She rolls over and ends up on the floor with a loud bang. A door opens somewhere down the hall and is followed by a flurry of footsteps. Who the hell?

"I'm gone for five minutes and you've already fallen from the couch," Andrew laughs.

Slowly Jewel rolls head back, and opens her slightly unfocused brown eyes. The first thing she sees is a pair of gray sweat pants, then a toned upper body, and finally a pair of jade green eyes. Her neck felt like it was about to snap but she couldn't stop staring into his eyes.
