The darkness was filled inside the room. Yellow light from the street lamp would make it's way inside in between when the curtains would move with flowing wind. The only sound that was audible at distance was of the clock ticking with every passing second.
He held his breath within to hide his presence. His little hands covered his mouth so no noise would come out. The sweat was dripping from his forehead. His dark brown fearful eyes were on alert. Suddenly the door got opened and his gaze moved in that direction.
The sound of footsteps echoed in that haunted room and tears grabbed his eyes. His grip on his mouth tightened as the fear was getting bigger. "Dev..." The voice that haunted him echoed in that room and he closed his eyes shut tightly.
"I know you are here. Come out my boy. We will play along. It would be fun," The voice echoed one more time. His nose was running but he didn't care to sniff in a fear that the shadow will come and get him in no time.
He stayed the same just like that. The footsteps kept roaming in the room while shuffling with the things that would come in the way. The person was trying to search for that little boy who was hiding to save himself with all his strength.
The dust was erupting with every move that person made. "Dev, come out. Don't check my patience," The voice rose with every passing word and it scared Dev even more.
He sniffed finally while killing the silence further and the movement stopped suddenly. He shot his eyes open and moved his eyeballs in the surrounding to see where did the shadow go. His heart was making loud noise as the anxiety was getting within him and suddenly the cover above him was blowed away.
His eyes met those grey eyes and a loud gasp left his mouth. "Caught you," The loud voice echoed again and was followed by fits of laughter.
Tears started dripping from those two small eyes as he looked around for help but there wasn't anyone around. "Please..." That word stayed in his mouth when those grey eyes got him again. They sent chills down his spine.
