Jin lay languidly on the silk covered bed, stretching his slender limbs and wearing the proudest, smuggest smile he'd given to this date. Internally screaming girlishly, he curled into a ball, pulling the baby blue silky sheet around himself before allowing the slim fingers of his right hand to slide across his neck and caress the small raised, bluish bumps that adorned the caramel smooth skin.

A bond mark.

Namjoon had given him a bond mark.

After endless fights and arguments, supplemented with a few bouts of crying too, the elder had finally relented and given his beautiful love what he wanted. They'd shared a very special night spending time together, just the two of them, at peace with each other.
A night of simply being together, talking, sharing memories, talking about the future, their future. Both amazed at how in tune they actually were.

It didn't matter that Namjoon was centuries older, the mountains of experiences he'd had. It only mattered what he was experiencing now, with Jin, with the love of his life. The only experiences that truly mattered were the ones they were making and going through now. And after a session of sweet, slow and passionate love making where they were both satisfied, sleepy and deeply, deeply contented, Namjoon asked him the question.

"Do you really want it?" Namjoon asked, his slender fingers stroking the pulse point of Jin's neck.

Jin looked up at him through heavy lidded eyes, his cheeks deeply flushed, and his rosebud mouth beautifully kiss swollen. "Always," he answered softly.

"Even with all that's going on with Taehyung and Jungkook?" the elder asked, his eyes holding his lover's.

"Even with it," Jin sighed softly. "That's the thing. We're not Taehyung or Jungkook. We're us." He raised a hand and run his finger tips down Namjoon's soft, dimpled cheek. "Because it didn't work for them, doesn't mean it would be the same for us."

"It doesn't mean it won't," Namjoon countered softly and Jin smiled.

"No, it doesn't," he affirmed with a small nod of his head, his fingers now caressing the elder's smooth jaw line. "But I'd still take the chance. I know people know we're together?" he said and shifted a little so he was fully facing his lover. "But I want them to see it too."

Namjoon chuckled. "Like a badge of ownership?"

Jin blushed a little but shook his head. "A badge of honour," he corrected softly, his dark eyes sparkling brightly.

Namjoon looked at him carefully for a moment or two, a tiny argument taking place between his heart and his mind. He knows what would make Jin the happiest man in the world, and really was it such a hard thing to give? It could be. It obviously wouldn't be a bitch mark, because it would be consensual, but if the love isn't true? The mark won't take. That would mean one could possibly love the other more, and that would open up a can of worms on a catastrophic level. It's possibly why even vampires in love don't always do it. The 'I love you more than you love me' fights would be endless, and quite possibly be the ending of certain relationships.

Was Namjoon ready to put that theory to the test with Jin?

He thinks so. Jin was worth the effort, and if it didn't take? Namjoon would love him regardless.

"Then it would be my honour to mark you as mine." Namjoon's heart was battering around his rib cage as he uttered the words, but the smile radiating from Jin made the feeling worth while.

"You mean it?" Jin had asked, his eyes saucer huge in his flushed, excited face.

"I mean it." Namjoon nodded with a smile, his dimples deepening. "I love you," he whispered, husky soft, his long fingers stroking his lover's silky smooth cheek.
