"WHAT!?!?" laila yelled
yeonjun didn't say anything
he just stared and waited for an answer
his nerves were getting worse
was he about to get rejected?
"i-im sorry yeonjun, but i can't..." laila
half of her wanted to say yes
they got along so well
even she could see that
but she told herself she wouldn't get involved in that way with him
it was fine as friends
not as complicated
"huh...but why?" he asked curious
he thought she had feelings for him too
"well because...i don't really want to have a boyfriend who cares about his image only" she said hesitantly
"what?? i literally told you earlier that i wanted to change?" he said
"ya but you haven't yet..." she said
"it's only been like an hour since i told you? you expected me to change so quickly?" he started getting defensive
"no i didn't but i'm just saying like...you need time to figure out what you want and stuff and figure out things with sana" she said
"wtf laila i literally broke up with her right now for you" he said mad
"why are you getting mad at me??? i didn't ask you to do that. i'm just saying figure your own life out before you get into a relationship, saying you want to change and actually changing are two different things" laila said to him
laila walked off leaving him
they were just on good terms
for a whole hour maybe
and there they were again

hajra, jay, sana, beomgyu, farwa, and jeonghan were sat at their table talking and laughing
then an announcement came on the intercom
"DEAR STUDENTS OF HYBE HIGHSCHOOL IM ANNOUNCING THAT HOMECOMING BE AT THE END OF SEPTEMBER ON THE 30TH AFTER THE FOOTBALL GAME"
"ohhh homecoming so funnn" hajra said
"ohhh yesss so excitinggg" jay said side hugging hajra
"maybe for you guys" sana rolled her eyes
"i'm literally gonna throw up" farwa said
"same" jeonghan said fake gagging
"shut up you literally did a big grand gesture in the middle of the cafeteria with a boom box" jake said standing behind them with afeefa
"wtf when did you get here??" jeonghan said
"just now" jake said helping afeefa sit down and sitting down himself
afeefa felt awkward sitting down with sana and farwa at the table too
what would they say
she only sat cause jake sat there
"hey afeefa" hajra said
she could now greet her openly
since she confessed outside the ice cream shop
"...hey" sana and farwa said hesitantly at the same time
"hey guys" afeefa said smiling kindly
"woah woah woah what happened to your ankle??" jay asked
wtf why is he asking about other girls?...no hajra...don't be insecure hajra mentally slapped herself
"oh i just sprained it in the halls, jake helped me around" afeefa said shyly
"so you sprained your ankle and now jakes your boyfriend?" jeonghan asked
"wow how easy was that? i had to blackmail her for a bit, be in a fake relationship, have a door slammed on me and be left outside at night in the cold, and play a boom box in the middle of the cafeteria" jeonghan rolled his eyes and saying all that in one breath
farwa punched him in the arm and laughed
"omg get over it" farwa said in a mocking tone
"omg haha no we're not dating, we're just friends" afeefa said not wanting to alarm jake
although she really badly wanted to be in a relationship with him
jake just smirked knowing what he had planned
"ok so since we're going to homecoming together, obviously, you need to ask me out in front of everyone with a sign and everything, make it big and nice" jeonghan said
"what? me? i have to ask you out?? farwa asked
"yes?? i just held a boom box for you in the middle of the cafeteria i can't do two things in a row" he rolled his eyes
"yeah that's only fair" sana said laughing a bit
"shut up what are you gonna do?? ask beongyu out?" farwa replied
sana blushed and tried hiding the smile that came upon her face
"shut upppp" sana said
"don't worry i'll be the one to ask you out" beomgyu said
"w-what" sana said looking up at beomgyu
"you're wearing my jacket we're basically dating" he rolled his eyes
"mmmm no we're not, but we'll still go together, you don't need to ask me out or nothing" she rolled her eyes
"what about you guys? are you going together" jake asked hajra and jay
"well duhhh" jay said
"or do you want a big sign too" he asked
"hahaha noo we'll just go together who cares" hajra said fully expecting him to still ask her out
the whole table talked excitedly about homecoming

yeonjun walked around the cafeteria
he didn't know where to sit
he wanted to sit with his friends
but they're all with sana at the table
he started looking for his other friends
he found joshua sitting alone
"hey..." yeonjun plopped by joshua
"...hi" joshua said drowsily back
"tough day?" joshua asked yeonjun
"yeah...i got out of a relationship and got rejected from another one" he said
"same...i got rejected" joshua said
"how sad is our life" yeonjun said
"for real" joshua replied
they just sat not even looking at each other
talking about their horrible days
"i mean...homecoming is almost here...we could ask them out" yeonjun suggested
"that's actually a good idea" joshua said
"ya like we'll make it a big thing and make big signs and decorate it nicely and have flowers and a mariachi bad and-"
"woah woah one thing at a time" joshua calmed yeonjun down
"sorry i just...want her to say yes so bad..." yeonjun said thinking of laila
"ok we'll do all of that" joshua comforted him

laila walked around the cafeteria
where would she sit
her only friends were yeonjun, afeefa, and hajra
she just had a fight with yeonjun
well she didn't think it was a fight but...she doesn't think it went well
and afeefa and hajra were sat with farwa and sana
i'll just sit by afeefa and hajra...it looks like they're on good terms so... laila thought heading over to their table
"heyyy guys" laila said slowly and awkwardly as she sat down hoping no one would say anything
"heyyy laila" hajra and afeefa greeted her
sana looked up and noticed laila
"what are you doing here HOMEWRECKER" sana glared at laila
"h-homewrecker" laila asked confused
"omg shut up sana, you and yeonjun didnt even like eachother" farwa said
"woah what? for real?" jeonghan said
"ya apparently" jay said
"omg is that why he was asking for laila earlier?" jake said remembering he pulled laila aside earlier at lunch
sana listened quietly
what could yeonjun possibly want with laila right after they broke up
"what did you guys talk aboutttt" jake said smiling amd raising his eyebrows up and down
"i um...he kinda asked me out..." laila said hesitantly
"HE WHAT-" sana yelled surprised
"BUT I REJECTED" laila said holding her hands up
"...oh, i wouldn't have cared anyways, it's just that we JUST broke up" sana said rolling her eyes
"wait omg he broke up with sana then went to go ask laila out...that's kinda messed up" hajra said
"for real like...he didn't even have a second to think he just ran to be in another relationship" afeefa said
"hey guys he's still our friend" jay said
"yeah guys" jeonghan rolled his eyes
"for real i'm sure he's just overwhelmed right now" jake added on
all the boys defended yeonjun
all the girls disagreed
