"wait who are you guys playing up against?" laila asked suddenly curios while taking a sip of water
"jyp highschool" yeonjun answered while stuffing his face
she spat her water out across the whole table
everyone slowly pushed their food trays away from them
"JYP HIGHSCHOOL!?!?" laila said alarmed
"um yeah? why? you got some history there or some thing?" jake said wanting to know why laila had such a reaction to hearing that
"um...i just used to go there that's all" laila said calming down
"so you spit over the whole table cause you used to go there?" afeefa said not understanding what the big deal was
"um well...i had a boyfriend there but i dumped him cause i had to move..." laila explained
"*GASP* lailaaa a heartbreakerrrrr???" farwa said
"omg why couldn't you do long distance how sadddd" hajra said
"omg laila you're so meannn he was probably so nice and you downgraded to him" sana said taking a jab at yeonjun
yeonjun rolled his eyes and stuck his tongue out to sana
"real mature" she said rolling her eyes
"omg stop it you two this is about me right now" laila said covering yeonjuns tongue with her hand
"wait so why are you so worried? is he on the football team or something" jake asked
"yeah why are you so worried?" yeonjun repeated jakes question crossing his arms and moving his head
"nooo he's not but what if he goes to see the game, he always loved football but he was never good at it" laila explained why she was nervous
"omg you two will meet againnnn how romantic" farwa squealed
yeonjun stared at farwa to let her know he didn't approve
"ugh never mind" farwa mumbled to herself
"just forget about him you're with me now" yeonjun said putting his arm around laila
"omg what did i sayyy" laila said taking his arm off and rolling her eyes
the group continues to talk throughout lunch

it was now the end of the day
afeefa saw jake walking out of practice
she waited after school for him
"JAKE" she called out to him
"oh hey afeefa" he said calmly
"will you go to homecoming with me?" she said confidently
"huh? we're already going together as frien-"
"NOT as friends" afeefa cut him off
"w-what" he stuttered
"jake omg you can be so slow you know? can't you tell that i like you?! i thought you liked me too" she confessed
"i-it's not that-" he was cut off again by afeefa
"ive liked you forever jake and you barely started talking to me this this year and i thought i would be okay with being friends with you since all ive wanted is for you to notice me but even thats not enough" afeefa rambled on and on
"I LIKE YOU TOO AFEEFA" jake blurted out quickly and covered his mouth
"YOU WHAT!?" afeefa yelled not believing it
"i-ive liked you for forever too afeefa...i finally had the courage to talk to you this year...the reason i didn't ask you out was because i was scared that you would reject me, so i played it safe and stayed friends..." jake confessed
"i-i don't even know what to say" afeefa said
"you could accept my offer to go to homecoming...not as friends" he smiled
"hey i asked first" afeefa said playfully rolling her eyes
"oh hahah then i guess i'll go with you" he said smiling
"as a couple?" afeefa asked
"as a couple" he stated smiling

hajra got a text from jay saying he wanted to talk after his practice
hajra took this as an opportunity to express her feelings on him not asking her out yet, talking to afeefa, and leaving her for the whole day
hajra saw jay standing with something behind his back and walked up to him

"you have some explaining to do" hajra said directly
"huh?" he asked confused
"why were you talking to afeefa earlier-"
"uh- are you jealousss?" jay says playfully
hajra gave him and angry glare and clenched her jaw
jay stopped joking around and let her finish talking as he saw she was serious
"AS I WAS SAYING...WHY we're you with afeefa earlier and why were you gone the whole day?? like i saw you once in study hall, you didn't join us for lunch or even walk me to any of my classes AND YOU DIDNT ASK ME TO HOMECOMING YET, LIKE I KNOW WERE ALREADY A COUPLE AND I SAID YOU DIDNT NEED TO BUT COME ON JAY YOURE BEING A BAD BOYFRIEND LATELY!" she yelled letting all her emotions out
"h-hajra" jay said while dropping what he had held behind his back
it was a bouquet of flowers
"w-what are those" hajra said looking at the flowers
a mariachi band came from behind the building wall and started playing while holding a banner with the word "homecoming?" written across it
"j-jay...i didn't know..." hajra felt so guilty
why was she yelling at her poor boyfriend
he's only acted like this for a day
and she completely blew it out of proportion
"i was talking to afeefa earlier to ask her advice on how to ask you out...and i havn't been around you the whole day to prepare, hajra i was gonna ask you out, ever since the announcement came" he said in complete disbelief on how she was acting
hajra just stood tears forming in her eyes
she just felt so bad
why did she overthink so much
she ruined a completely perfect relationship
jay walked off leaving the flowers on the floor and the mariachi band still playing
hajra picked up the flowers and ran home crying
"do we still get payed?" the guitarist of the mariachi band asked
