while everyone else went to class
joshua, vernon, and shabeela we're still at the table
vernon and joshua sat starting at eachother waiting for the other to say a word
"guys come on what is this" shabeela said pleading with them
vernon got up slowly
"thank you vernon" shabeela sighed
"ya...i gotta go to class anyways, we gotta test, wouldn't wanna depend on a football scholarship that i probably wouldn't even get anyways" vernon took a jab at joshua
"excuse me?!? i get good grades for your information" joshua said back
"ya sure you do. you know shabeela i honestly don't know why you're with him" vernon said to shabeela
shabeela and joshua stood quiet to see what vernon would say
"i mean, he's some football jock who will only peak in highschool, and i'm...well, better for you" vernon said
"i-" shabeela didn't know what to say
she knew vernon had feelings for her
i mean that's why he asked her out
but she didn't know they were this strong
"bro wtf, you're literally saying all this infront of me, like i wouldn't knock the shit outta you" joshua said
"joshua stop" shabeela said

shabeela flinched and brought her hands up to her face once again
this time it was more of a reason to flinch
there was yelling and angry tension everywhere
"sh-shabeela i-" joshua hesitantly said taking a step towards her
"DONT come near her, is this what you be doing to her? you treat her like this?" vernon said under the impression that joshua hits her
"what? no i don't hit her, i would never" joshua said
"ya sure you don't, she wouldn't have flinched at your movements then" vernon said now holding shabeela who had tears down her face
the tears were slowly washing her makeup off
it washed off enough to show her bruises
joshua's eyes widened at the sight of her bruised up face
his eyes got misty as he was a loss for words
vernon took a look at shabeelas face as well
"y-you did this to her..." vernon looked at joshua in disgust
"what? no i had no idea...shabeela what happened?" joshua asked trying to hold back his tears
he wondered who did this to her
who could hurt shabeela
"oh stop trying to act dumb" vernon continued to accuse joshua
shabeela couldn't take any more of their arguing
she got out of vernon's arms and ran off crying
her bruised face out to the whole world
"look what you did" vernon said to joshua
joshua just clenched his fist
vernon saw his clenched fist
"what? are you gonna hit me like you do shabeela? he said trying to get joshua angrier
joshua's fist softened as tears streamed down his face
he wondered who did that do her
vernon's facial expressions softened as he felt bad for joshua now
he just walked off leaving him alone

farwa, jeonghan, afeefa, jake, hajra, jay, laila, and yeonjun walked together out of school
"alright we gotta go to practice" jake said kissing afeefa bye
"ya and i actually have to arrive on time" jeonghan said cupping farwa's face in his hands and kissing her forehead
"for real it's last practice before our game tomorrow" jay said giving hajra a quick peck before running off
"ya byeee" yeonjun said fist bumping laila
the girls laughed at the mere fist bump laila was left with and wished the boys good luck on practice and their game and started walking home
sana and beomgyu ran up to the girls and walked with them as well
"isn't shabeela gonna drive you home?" farwa asked
"no she went home early" sana said
"oh? is she ok?" hajra asked
"idk she said she doesn't feel well" sana said
they continued walking and talking about homecoming tomorrow
"so glad you and jay made up" afeefa said
"i mean i kinda expected it" farwa said disregarding her thoughts of them breaking up earlier
"what? nuh uh you totally thought they would break up earlier" beomgyu exposed farwa
"shut up" farwa elbowed him in the ribs
"omg guys i'm just happy we're back together" hajra said relieved
"woah sana has it been a long day or what" laila said
"huh? why?" sana said not getting the joke
"your foundation is wearing off a bit" hajra said
"omg do you even sleep your eye bags are hella dark" afeefa said not knowing those eyebags were bruises
"UH UH I GOTTA GO" sana said as she ran off hoping no one noticed she had bruises
"HEY I THOUGHT WE WERE WALKING TOGETHER" beomgyu yelled out to sana
"SORRY BUT NOT TODAY" she yelled back as she ran home

"guys i just don't get it, you would expect laila to want to be with me after i literally ask her out right?"yeonjun complained
"don't worry yeonjun, she'll come around" jake assured him

"becauseee when she came in class today she was still thinking bout you" jake said

"wait so she apologized to you?" jeonghan asked jay who was explaining what him and hajra talked about earlier
"yeah, she apologized for everything" jay said
"well i'm glad you two made up" jeonghan said
"what about you and farwa, has she asked you out to homecoming yet?" jay asked
"ugh no" jeonghan said throwing his head back
"but it's tomorrow???" jay said
"i knowwww i don't know what she's planning but i'm honestly just considering asking her myself" jeonghan said frustrated
joshua stood silent staring at the floor not engaging in the conversation at all
"what's wrong with you?" jay asked joshua
"..." joshua continued staring at the floor
"hellooo" jeonghan snapped his fingers in joshua's face
"huh" joshua snapped out of it and looked up

"oh it's just...shabeela" joshua said looking back to the floor
"what? is she leaving you for vernon or something" jeonghan said

"SHE WAS BRUISED UP!?!?" jeonghan exclaimed making everyone look at him

"that's why her foundation was cakeyyy" jeonghan said putting two and two together
"that's probably why she got quiet then" joshua said
"how do you know she just didn't get into a fight" yeonjun said
"ya? like with her sister" jake said
"why would her sister bruise up her face??" jay asked
"ok maybe not her sister, but someone else" jake said
"oh cool did someone get a video of if?!" jeonghan asked
joshua looked at jeonghan showing that this wasn't the time to joke around
"aright sorry...so what are you gonna do?" jeonghan said
