sana and shabeela were at home washing up getting ready for bed

she hadn't opened a single message
she couldn't tell them what happened
she needed time to think of an excuse
sana was looking in the mirror at her bruises
how would she be able to hide them tomorrow if the makeup wore off by the end of the day

their mother called them down to the dinner table
they both made it downstairs to see their step dad and their mom sitting at the table
"come sit" their mom said calmly
sana and shabeela looked at each other before sitting at the table

she just talked as if nothing was wrong

"we would like to invite your boyfriends over tomorrow for dinner before your homecoming dance, would yeonjun be able to make it after his game?" their mom asked
"uh... me and yeonjun kind of, broke up" sana said looking down
"oh nonsense, tell him to come over tomorrow" their mom shook her head and laughed
"what about you shabeela? do you have a boyfriend now" the mom asked
"i- um, well" shabeela hesitated, she didn't want joshua to get involved with her family in that way
"don't even think about lying" their step dad said
"oh calm down, let her speak" their mom put her hand on their stepdads shoulders and laughed

"GREAT! invite him over as well, you guys can go to homecoming right after" their mom said
"i-is that all" sana said wanting to leave
"yea go to your rooms" their step dad said shooeing them off
the girls headed off upstairs
"why would they want them over for dinner all of a sudden??" sana asked
"i don't know but imagine their faces when they see beomgyu instead of yeonjun" shabeela said
"for real" sana agreed
"...don't you think yeonjun could come instead?" shabeela suggested
"i don't know, i don't think yeonjun would agree to that, and plus he bought the limo, he should be able to go in it" sana said

they were talking about homecoming

they agreed on their plan and headed out the shop after finishing their ice cream

"i'm going to the chip isle" afeefa said as she ran

the girls made it to the chip isle and looked around while the boys browsed around the store
afeefa saw a familiar man walk into the isle
he looked sketchy
she scooted closer to hajra and held her hand
