Chapter 18 - Maybe their not so bad...

Techno carefully pulled Cordelia closer to him so she wouldn't fall off and she lent into his chest. He then started to ride again, "Is this okay?" He asked, quietly.

"Yeah," Cordelia replied, giving a small smile even though Techno couldn't see.

*Cordelia's POV*

My face was really red and I couldn't seem to calm down. What is wrong with me? I thought. Techno's grip around me was gentle yet firm. I felt safe. A sense of security.

I always knew Techno was strong but, like, he is BUFF. I can feel his abs, I know this sounds creepy but like, DAMN. Don't get me started on his biceps. His arm that is wrapped around me, keeping me on the horse, is so muscly.

Back in 'The Red Rhino' when I flirted with Travis, I filled his ego by saying he was super muscular. Granted, he was decently buff but Techno? Jesus this man could probably lift a house.

I was pulled out of my thoughts by my stab wound stinging suddenly. I flinched and I felt Tehno's grip tighten slightly. "You okay?" He asked.

"Yeah... Just sometimes it hurts for no reason," I said quietly.

"Well, if you need to have a break just tell me," Techno said and I couldn't help but smile at how nice he was being. Maybe, as soon as I'm better it will stop, but it's nice.

I felt so drained even though I have been resting for ages. Well, I was stabbed so I don't see why I shouldn't be pretty drained. My eyes started to close and I didn't fight it. As I drifted off, I leaned into Techno's chest a little more. It was nice in his arms.

This mission changed my perspective on Techno. When I first met him I thought he was an insensitive prick who was a stuck up royal. But now that I've been stuck with him the past few days, I'm really beginning to see another side of him. Maybe He's not that bad. I thought as I drifted off to sleep.

*Techno's POV*

I felt Cordelia's body go limp and I looked down to see her asleep. A smile crept onto my face and I looked back to the path. Carl rode on and kept Cordelia close to me.

I don't like to admit it but I do care about her. Even though at first I couldn't stand her, this mission really made me see another side of her. She can be kind and is very brave. She is quick thinking and although I didn't like her strategy of getting the keys from Travis, it was effective.

I have grown to not mind Cordelia over this mission. I remember a conversation we had when we were in the Red Rhino.

-flashback-

(Flashback in third person)

Techno had his hand on Cordelia's waist as they were walking around to find Travis. "You better not get the wrong idea about this. We are simple on a mission," Techno stated, not looking at Cordelia.

"Yup. Acquaintances. You better not get the wrong idea," Cordelia said, rolling her eyes.

"Please. I would have happily done this alone but my father just had to make you come along," techno said finally looking down at Cordelia.

She sneered at him, "oh trust me! Me too. I loathe you," Cordelia said, as they went and stood by a wall.

"I loathe you t-" Techno stopped talking when he noticed someone staring at them so he stood over the top of Cordelia. He lent his elbow over her head and brung his face closer to hers.

Cordelia's face went red and she managed to stutter out a sentence, "w-what are you d-doing dickward?"

"There's a man staring at us, pretend you're flirting with me," Techno said, gesturing to the guys watching them.

"It's not Travis is it?" Cordelia said, wrapping her arms around his neck. She lent into his face a little more looking into Techno's reddish eyes.

"No, it's not, but I thought he was getting suspicious that's all," Techno said, looking down at Cordelia's lips for a second without thinking.

(Little did he know he would be kissing those later that night 👀)

"I still hate you," Cordelia said, with her face not matching her words. Techno smirked.

"The feelings mutual," Techno said, looking to the side and realizing that the guys had gone. Techno pushed himself away from Cordelia and didn't make eye contact. Cordelia's and Techno's faces were a light shade of pink as they walked off again with Techno's hand on Cordelia's waist as well.

-End of flashback-

*Third person*

It's funny to think how our relationship has changed over the course of 2 days, Techno thought. Without thinking, Techno looked down at Cordelia again and he couldn't help but admire her peaceful face. When Techno realized he was staring, he quickly looked away with rosy cheeks.

<Timeskip>

It had been around 2 hours and Cordelia started to wake. Techno didn't seem to notice and kept on riding with a firm grip around Cordelia's waist so she didn't fall. Cordelia's eyes fluttered open gently and she looked up at Techno.

He still hadn't noticed, so Cordelia just kind of looked up at him not realizing she was staring. Cordelia finally looked away, and silently lent into Techno more.

The two continued to ride on in comfortable silence and the sun was high in the sky. Soon enough, the Water kingdom came into sight and Techno sighed constantly. He got Cordelia to the Kingdom safely...

A/N: My Updates haven't been the best sorry, I just had a lot of assignments recently, because for me the summer holidays are about to start, so the end of the year means tests and assignments.

But having said that, I should be updating more since school ended for me in like a week and a half :)
