Chapter 29 - Explanation

*Third Person POV*

Cordelia finally managed to get the throne room door open and sighed in relief when she saw Phil sitting there reading a book of some kind.

Phil stood up quickly and rushed over to Cordelia and pulled the half awake man off her.

"Thank you," Cordelia said, shaking out her body slightly, glad to have the wait of Techno off her.

"What happened?" Phil asked, sitting Techno down on the floor and kneeling down in front of him.

"I don't know, I think he's sick. He just suddenly started acting weird and then sort of.... Collapsed on me...." Cordelia said, crouching down next to phil.

"Mmmmm I think he's just got a cold.... It's funny though, he doesn't normally get sick... like ever," Phil said, clearly thinking about several different things.

"Did something else happen with him? Like anything...? Anything I should know about?" Phil asked, and Cordelia shifted slightly.

"Well, actually.... Last night..... I couldn't sleep and I went outside to go to the library and I.... well found him.... Standing in the hallway. But something was off... he had red glowing eyes... and he seemed to be in pain. Not physically though, like something was mentally... hurting him...." Cordelia said, thinking back to the other night; it made her shiver slightly.

"I... had never seen him so panicked. He kept backing away from me, saying he didn't want to hurt me. I managed to calm him down-"

"Wait, you were able to calm him down?" Phil said, in utter shock, "What?- how? I've never been able to do that...."

"I- I'm sorry, but what the hell is going on? You're talking like this has happened before?" Cordelia said, becoming more and more confused by the second.

Phil got up and started pacing and mumbling to himself. "But how did she do it? I thought they went away? I should have known they didn't. How could I have been so naive! Ugh-"

"Phil! Please! What is going on! I'm so confused!" Cordelia yelled, finally snapping.

"Okay...... come with me" Phil said, standing, picking up Techno and Cordelia helped him.

"This way," Phil led Cordelia around a corner and up a flight of stairs.

"Phil... do you mind.... Telling me... where... are we going?" Cordelia asked between breaths. Who knew carrying Techno up a flight of stairs could be so exhausting?

"Somewhere private, so I can tell you the situation," Phil said as they rounded another corner.

"I didn't expect this to be so serious...." Cordelia said, mainly to herself but she heard Phil hum in agreement and mutter 'sadly'.

"Just through here," Phil said, rounding a counter and pulling Coredelia and Technos limp body into a door.

"Okay.... What i'm about to tell you is VERY confidential and can never be told to anyone, not even your sister," Phil stared into Cordelia's eyes.

"Y-yeah, I won't say anything," Cordelia affirmed.

"Techno.... Has these....Voices. They tell him things. They demand things from him, they demand blood, they want anarchy, they just want chaos and death. Techno sometimes can't contain these voices and they take control of him and he does what they tell him to do. He has gained better control of them over time, but sometimes they are just too overwhelming. Sometimes he remembers it, sometimes he just wakes up and just knows.... They haven't done anything in weeks, we finally thought they went away.... But from how you described last night..... They're back."
