Chapter 10 - OH HELL NO!

*Cordelia's POV*

"No no no, Ethan you got it all wrong. It's called a cantaloupe!" I told Ethan.

"It's called a fucking rockmelon what are you on about!" He yelled back.

"Get your Aussie ass out of here, it's called a cantaloupe!" I shouted. We stared at each other before bursting out laughing.

"What the fuck was that argument!?" Ray said between laughs.

"Codelia," A voice said behind me.

"Wha- oh it you," I said, turning around and seeing Techno. He rolled his eyes at me and I rolled mine back.

"My father has requested you come see him in the courtroom" He said.

"Okay, bye guys, see ya," I said waving to Ethan and Ray. Techno walked with me to the throne room. I pushed open the door and saw King Philza sitting at the planning table.

"You summoned me?" I said, getting his attention.

"Ah, you're here. Cordelia, Techno sit down," He gestured to the seats.

"Okay so I bet you are wondering why you're here. So as you might know a week ago we found a very valuable artifact that belonged in the water kingdom. What you don't know is that when we were transporting it, the transporters were ambushed and the artifact was stolen," Phil  said, looking at us.

My eyes widened and I lent forward as he continued. "The artifact has been taken by a gang called 'The Broken Element'. They own a club called 'Red Rhino' and their boss Travis, who owns the club, is keeping it in a safe there. Now here is where you come in. I want you 2 to go and get it back and hand deliver it to the King and Queen of the water kingdom," Phil said with a stern face.

I slowly turned my head to techno and we looked at each other, OH HELL NO! WHY HIM! I thought. "Don't worry your highness, We'll get it back," I said, keeping my cool.

"Don't worry, I won't disappoint you father. But why her!?" Techno said standing up.

"Listen, I know you guys don't get along very well but you are 2 of the best people we can send on this mission so you need to. Suck. It. Up. Okay?" Phil replied, staring at Techno.

Techno looked away and grunted. "Okay, you leave tomorrow, food and gear have already been packed for you. All you need to do is pack your clothes. Now, go get ready, you leave at 4 tomorrow," Phil dismissed us.

Once we were out of the room I turned to Techno and I stopped him, "Okay listen. It's clear we don't like each other but we need to do this," I said to him.

"Yes, I know. Now go and pack. Also pack something for the club, we're going undercover," techno said before leaving. I rolled my eyes and walked home to pack for the mission.

I don't know how long I'm going to survive on this mission without jumping off a cliff. I thought, lying in bed.
