Chapter 19 - Arrival

*Techno's POV*

We rode through the Kingdom and I got a few weird looks but I brushed them off. As a royal, you're used to being stared at when you go out in public.

I had to ride quickly because every time I glanced down at Cordelia I could see more life drained from her eyes. Screw this-

I gave Carl a small kick, signalling him to go quicker. We soon broke off into a trot, then to a kanter and finally into a gallop. You need to stay with me Cordelia.... You've made it this far.

"Don't die on me now, come on," I said looking down at cordelia. She let out a small chuckle, but I could tell how much pain she was in.

When I rode up to the gates Garuda started to gather around me. "Prince Technoblade! We've been expecting-" one of them started but I ignored them, getting off Carl.

"Move out the way. We need your Physician, she's dying," I said walking up the steps to the castle with Cordelia's lifeless body in my arms.

I burst through the door to the Physician's office, and the man sitting at his desk jumped at the invasion. He looked up and his eyes widened.

"Your majesty!" The man said, bowing.

"No time for formalities. I need you to help her," I said, placing Cordelia down on one of the beds.

"I'm Fundy, by the way. Now tell me what happened," Fundy said, grabbing a few things from his shelves.

"She was stabbed yesterday, and we only had limited supplies. So she doesn't have long, please help her," I said, looking at Fundy.

Fundy lifted up Cordelia's shirt and started to unwrap her bandage. His face dropped
when he saw her wound. "This is bad...
Okay, I'm going to need help. NIKKI! I need help here!" Fundy yelled to a door.

"Coming!" A small voice said from the other side of the door. Soon a small young lady with pink hair walked in.

"Oh dear! I'll go get some things," Nikki said, grabbing some tools. The two of them worked away at cleaning Cordelia's wound and bandaging it up while I sat in the corner, my chin resting on my knuckles watching worriedly.

"Okay, she'll be fine, your majesty, she will wake up soon, don't worry. I'll leave her with you, we need to go treat another patient," Fundy said, getting up with Nikki.

The two walked off into another room and I let out a sigh. I got up and walked over to Cordelia, sitting down on the side of her bed.

As I brushed some hair out of her face, she started to move slightly. She still didn't wake up though. I placed my hand on her cheek gently and leant my forehead on hers.

I sighed, opening my eyes and looking at her. Our faces were pretty close and I just sat there, not doing anything but resting my forehead against hers.

I don't like showing affection, but I always find this is how I show it. I never liked hugs or anything like that, but I often found that whenever I left on missions I would always say goodbye to my brothers by leaning my forehead on theirs to show my bond with them.

It's weird I know but, it's just my thing. "Techno...?" Cordelia's voice said. It was soft and half asleep. I opened my eyes and pulled away from her slightly so I could see her face better.

"Cordelia..." I said, with a small smile of relief, "you're okay, we made it to the Water kingdom. The physicians Fundy and Nikki treated you."

Cordelia sat up with a slight struggle but I placed my hand on her back to help her up.

"Oh okay..." she sighed, with a small smile. She lifted her hand up weakly and placed it on my cheek. That's when I remembered that I still had my hand on her cheek and I blushed slightly.

"Hey..." she said, with a breathy voice. I smiled at her and I couldn't help but smile back. Are our faces getting closer..? Am I leaning in? Oh shit I am. I thought.

I knew I was leaning in but I couldn't seem to stop myself. I felt her breath against my lips and I slowly started to close the gap, but just before we connected someone came through the door.

Our faces whipped away from each other, quick as lightning and the guard stood there awkwardly.

"Uhhh- Sorry- the king and queen have requested you meet them in the dining hall for dinner at 6:00. I'll take you to we're you'll be staying, please follow me," that guard said. I could tell he felt weird for Interrupting whatever... that was. 

Me and Cordelia got up awkwardly and walked with the guard in silence. I was still trying to process the fact that I almost kissed Cordelia... WILLINGLY! We hate each other! Except- I don't think we hate each other anymore.

I mean, I think she was going to kiss back- WHAT THE HELL AM I THINKING! Shut up! I just need to rest. The guard soon opened a door to a room and led me in. He told me that there was clothes in the cupboard and the king and queen would appreciate me dressing formally.

I sat down on the bed in the guest room and replayed the almost kiss in my head. "AAGGHH!" I yelled out loud, through it my body down on the bed.

I can't like Cordelia, no, I just can't. That kis- ALMOST kiss, was a freak accident. Do I like Cor-? SHUT UP Techno, jez. It wouldn't matter anyway. She hates me and thinks I hate her. It would never happen.

I looked over to the clock that read 4:30. I have time for a nap... I thought, getting comfortable and drifting off to sleep.
