Chapter 26 - Comfort

*Cordelia's POV*

<The day night they got back>

TW: Blood and mentions of death

I couldn't sleep to say the least.

I just lay in my large comfy bed thinking. I kept looking over expecting to see Lea asleep, but every time she's not there. Phil insisted that me and Lea stay at the castle but that ment we weren't in separate rooms. And that was weird for me, because I've never really slept without someone in the room before.

The only time I slept by myself was the night at the air kingdom, and even then I didn't actually sleep that much. I just hope that Lea's okay...

"Alright. That's it," I said, throwing the blanket off me. I got up quietly and tiptoed over to the door. I placed my ear to it and listened. No one there.. Perfect. I thought, opening the door.

Phil had told me that guards normally stay outside your room until around 1-2 and come back in the morning around 6, so i know that is somewhere in between 1-6 in the morning.

Tiptoeing down the cold hallway I regretted not changing into some clothes before leaving. All I was wearing was a purple silk spaghetti strap top and silk shorts.

Not the best thing to wear at night considering how cold it can get. How about some late night reading? I thought, walking towards the library.

While walking there I stopped in my tracks when I saw a figure standing, menacingly in the hallway. I got ready to attack and slowly walked towards it.

It was facing the other way so I had the advantage of surprise. When I was about a metre away I stopped.

"Techno?" I said, and he turned around slowly. I gasped when I saw him. He was covered in blood and his eyes were glowing red in the dark.

"Tech-" I started walking forward and held up my hand to place on his shoulder but he stopped me.

"Don't come any closer!" he said, not in an angry way but sounding more... Scared?

"Techno, its okay-"

"No it's not! I don't want to hurt you! Just stay back!" He yelled not loud enough to wake anyone up but enough to make me wince.

"Techno... Let me help you..."

"No!" He said backing up when I walked closer. I've never seen him like this before....

"Your not going to hurt me and I know that-"

"No! You don't!" He said, sounding more and more distressed.

"Calm down, it's okay," I said walking closer.

Techno then grabbed his head squeezing his eyes shut. He fell on the ground on his knees shaking his head vigorously. I was down by his side in a second but he kept trying to back away from me.

"Techno whats wrong," I said, placing my hand on his shoulder and he flinched slightly.

"I-I- Can't- The're- Stop-" He kept stuttering his words so much I couldn't make out a sentence. I needed him to calm down, but how?! He was freaking out too much.

"Techno. You need to calm down." I told him softly but it seemed like he couldn't hear me.

I grabbed his face, not with to much force, but enough so he'd look at me. His eyes dimmed slightly but were still glowing.

"Focus on me. Look into my eyes. Nothing else, just me and my voice," I said, softly and his eyes relaxed but his eyes seemed to glow brighter again.

This is a long shot but...

I lent forward and kissed him. He seemed to tense up but then relaxed after realising what was happening. I felt his arms wrap around me, pulling me closer to him.

(Stiles and Lydia moment 👀 If you get that reference good job 👍)

This isn't where I was intending this to go, but for some reason I couldn't bring myself to pull away.

*Third Person POV*

When Cordelia pulled she was glad to see Techno's eyes were back to normal. "Are you better now?" She asked, celebrating in her head for not stuttering.

"Y-yeah, thanks" Techno replied, a little shaken still, "How- How did you know that would calm me down?"

"I- uhh- I read somewhere that kissing someone an help with panic attack- of course I-I didn't really k-know if that was a- uh panic attack- was it? Just- what happened?" Cordelia replied, stuttering out and changing the topic as quickly as she could.

"It's- uhh nothing..." Techno said, clearly not wanting to talk about it so Cordelia decided not to push it.

"Okay then... let's get you back to your bedroom okay?" Cordelia said, helping Techno off the ground.

When they were walking Cordelia could see Techno's hands shaking so she made a bold move and held his hand. It seemed to stop shaking as much but still quivered slightly.

The two walked into Techno's room and Cordelia waited while he had a shower. She didn't know why she was waiting but she just... did.

When Techno came out, he no longer had blood covering him and was in a fresh white shirt with plain black pants. He definitely seems more relaxed after the shower.

"How are you feeling?" Cordelia asked quietly. Techno only heard because it was night and there was no sound.

"Better I guess... uh, thank you... for helping me..." Techno replied quietly as well.

"You're welcome. I couldn't just leave you there... Now, lie down and get some rest," Cordelia said, patting the bed on the opposite side she was sitting on.

Techno walked over and lay down on the covers of his bed staring at the ceiling. He was lost in thought. How did Cordelia calm him down so easily? Should I tell her about the voices? Thoughts like these ran through his head until Cordelia spoke up again.

"Would you like me to go? Or should I stay until you're asleep?" Her soft voice broke through the darkness like light to Techno. It made him smile.

"Could... Could you stay? Maybe just for a little bit please. I don't feel like being alone right now..." Techno said, hiding his embarrassment well but not well enough for Cordelia not to know.

"Of course," She replied, with a soft smile that no one could even see.

Cordelia then lay down next to Techno. They both lay in comfortable silence, just staring at the ceiling. That is until Cordelia fell asleep and rolled over startling Techno slightly.

He rolled onto his side, facing Cordelia, admiring her beauty. He definitely felt calmer with her here but he wouldn't dare sleep. What happens if he wakes up in the morning with her dead in his arms? What happens if he hurts her and she leaves? What happ-

His thoughts were interrupted by Cordelia rolling over again. She subconsciously rolled towards Techno pressing her back against his chest and his face heated up.

He slowly wrapped his arm around Cordelia's stomach and pulled her closer. He buried his face into the back of her head and shut his eyes. She's safe. You don't need to worry. Techno told himself as he felt Cordelia's stomach move up and down slightly with her breathing.

Slowly, Techno gave in on trying to stay awake and drifted off to sleep, comforted by being able to hear Cordelia breathing.

I want gone for that long but still I started school at the beginning of the  month so my uploads were shit 👍
