Chapter 7 - The royal library

*Cordelia's POV*

<2 weeks later>

I've had a lot of fun training with everyone. The only thing that ruined it was 'PrINcE TechNOblAdE'. Ugh I can't stand him.

Training had just ended and I was walking through the castle to leave. As I went round a corner I bumped into someone.

"Oh sorry- oh you majesty my mistake," I said, doing a curtsy to King Philza.

"Ah, hello Cordelia, how is training going?" He asked.

"It's going great! I'm really enjoying it, thank you again for letting me join," I said smiling.

"That's good. By the way, a little birdie told me that you love reading. Is that true?" Philza asked, turning to me.

"Yes, I do. By any chance, was the little birdie my little sister Lea?" I asked, chuckling.

"Well yes and no. Tommy told me but Lea told Tommy so I guess that's a yes?" He said. I chuckled a little, shaking my head.

"Well anyway, follow me," Philza said.

I had a look of confusion on my face as he led me to a room. When he opened the door it led to a massive library.

I let out a gasp at the sight of all the books. "Knock yourself out, I know you like to read so after training feel free to come here whenever you want," Philza said, smiling.

"Thank you, your majesty!" I said before he smiled and walked out of the library.

When the door shut behind him I let out a small squeak of excitement. I looked around the library and all the books looked so old and full of knowledge.

I grabbed a few books and took them to a table to start reading them. I put the stack of books down and opened the first one.

I didn't realize how long I was there until I noticed that I needed to grab a candle since the sun had gone down and it was my only source of light. I found one and lit it.

I was already on my second book and I was super focused on it. I suddenly heard a noise and I grabbed my sword.

"Who's there?" I asked. I looked around and noticed a shadow figure. They figure moved and walked out to reveal the one and only Prince Technoblade. I dropped my sword. "oh, it's just you," I rolled my eyes.

"What are you even doing here? It's like midnight?" Technoblade said.

"What? It's midnight already? Jesus one fly's when you read huh?" I said that last bit to myself.

"Waaaait, what are you doing up then?" I asked, pointing my finger at him.

"Couldn't sleep, and when that happens, I come to my favourite place which is here. I have no clue why you're here though," he said, narrowing his eyes at me.

"Well if you must know, after training I bumped into your father and he brought me here because he knows I love to read. And I guess I lost track of time..." I said trailing off.

He stared blankly at me and I rolled my eyes before sitting back down and going back to reading my book.

I heard Techno's footsteps get further away and then they started to get closer again. The chair at the opposite end of the table pulled out and I looked up to see Techno sitting down.

I glued my eye back onto my book trying to forget he was there. His presence really bothered me but he wasn't doing anything so I can't really complain.

I read until I finished the chapter I was on before closing the book and getting up. Techno looked up at me as I piled up the books that lay around me. I picked up the pile and walked off to put them away.

Once all the books were put back where I got them from I went back to the table and picked up my stuff. Grabbing my cloak, I swung it around my neck and walked out the liberty door not even bothering to say goodbye to Techno. He wouldn't care anyway.
