"By the way Zauster, I forget to introduce you—Sneddelline Nike Homero, your fiancèe," with all the people here as a witness, Headmistress Klaus said. "Sneddy, this is my son whom you'll marry soon, Zauster Vohn Klaus."
I am dumbfounded for the time being. Nagpalipat-lipat ang tingin ko sa mga taong kasama ko sa opisina ni Headmistress Klaus. This is the second time that I encounter the main characters of the novel. I still couldn't get used to it, and will never be—because this means the flow has been totally ruined, and can never be fixed again.
"Ahmm," nabaling ang atensyon ko kay Lady Beatricia nang tumikhim sya. "Is this an engagement party, Headmistress Klaus? And, what that girl is doing here?" Sunod-sunod na tanong nya. Pinagtaasaan nya pa ako ng kilay.
I remember something—technically, this is the third time meeting the leads of the novel. Ang una ay 'yung di inaasahang pagtatagpo namin ng landas ni Lady Beatricia. Worst, mukhang nakuha ko naman ang atensyon nito. Not only her but also other three main characters who are currently smiling at me.
Humugot ako ng lakas para magsalita at nagpapasalamat ako na nagawa ko. "Can I excuse myself, Headmistress Klaus? Sa tingin ko, may importante kayong pag-uusapan."
Gusto kong takasan ang eksenang 'to. I am not brave enough because I have no plan yet. Kung hindi ako nagkakamali ng pandinig, sila ang mga taong pinatawag ni Headmistress Klaus para sa Orægon Fest. The said event just rings a bell—may eksena sa nobela tungkol sa pagdiriwang na 'to. Kaya kailangan ko ring iwasan na masangkot sa pangyayaring 'yon.
"No, you must stay," pigil sa akin ni Headmistress Klaus. "About your questions, Ms. Terbero—this isn't an engagement party but will be happening soon here. At kung ano ang ginagawa nya dito, isa sya sa ipapadala sa Orægon Fest, kasama nyo. How can be the first in rank be left behind, right?"
Remembering my first encounter with Headmistress Klaus, ganito rin ang tono kung paano nya ako ni-welcome noon. Pero ang kaibahan sa ngayon, wala 'tong halong hindi matuwid na opinyon. Everything she has said is reasonable. However—
"Kasali ako sa Orægon Fest?" I confirmed. Tila hindi matanggap ng sistema ko na kasali ako sa Orægon Fest. I just reminded myself earlier to not meddle to the event, but this seemed getting out-of-hand.
"Of course." Walang pag-aalinlangang sagot ni Headmistress Klaus.
"Can I withdraw myself?" I tried to make amend.
Napatingin silang lahat sa akin, di makapaniwala at naguguluhan.
"Nope, dear. I won't grant you the permission to withdraw. Sa lahat ng mga estudyanteng narito, ikaw ang mas kailangan na naroon... and Zauster." Bigla akong nahiya sa panukala ni Headmistress Klaus. It must have appeared that I was having a special treatment.
"Maybe my brothers can take my place?" I still insisted.
As much as possible, I want to avoid another event with the main characters—that's the safest choice for now. Hindi ibig sabihin ng pagtakbo sa problema ay sumusuko ka na. I still need time to recapitulate and make a perfect plan. Alam kong hindi ko na mababago ang mga nasirang pangyayari sa nobela, pero pipilitin kong ibalik ang takbo ng istorya sa dati.
