"Ako nga po... may I ask: Where is Nebby?"
There is long silence after that question from Prince Rustean. I am beginning to get curious about the matter. Wala pa rin akong makitang rason kung bakit naaalala ko ang mga alaala ng kaibigan ni Prince Rustean. Wala talagang connect sa pagitan namin. If it has connection with Lady Sneddelline, it might be because of her family—but not completely sure the whereabouts.
Meanwhile, tila naging balisa si Duchess Stelline sa kanyang kinatatayuan. Mabilis na hinawakan ni Duke Nikolo ang kamay nito.
I also feel uncomfortable even if it intrigues me.
"Prince Rustean, I think we need to discuss this privately—"
"Why?" hindi pinatapos ni Prince Rustean si Duke Nikolo. "Where is Nebby? Where did you hide her?" Sunod-sunod nitong tanong.
"Prince Rustean... I am requesting you. If you want information about her, let's talk somewhere." Kalmadong pahayag ni Duke Nikolo.
Nabaling ang tingin ko kay Headmistress Klaus na nakakunot ang noo. Tila wala rin 'tong kaalam-alam sa mga pinag-uusapan ng dalawa. Nahuli ko namang nakatingin ng masama sa akin si Zauster nang mapadaan ang tingin ko sa kanya.
What's with him? Malala na talaga ang sira sa utak nito.
"Make sure to tell me the whole truth." Bumalik ang tingin ko kay Prince Rustean sa sinabi nito. What's with the tone.
"Don't tell me orders, young prince. I am not under your kingdom." Duke Nikolo seemed umbothered and plastered a stoic face.
Tumalikod ito at naglakad. Sinundan ito ni Prince Rustean.
Samantala, "I'm am sorry about that," naiilang na sabi ni Duchess Stelline. More than that, she was still tensed. "Kristine, ikaw ng bahala kay Sneddy. We will excuse ourselves for a bit. Sneddy. Zauster." Pagkatapos ay mabilis nitong hinabol ang dalawa.
Nang mawala sila sa paningin namin, mabilis kong hinarap si Headmistress Klaus. "Do you know that Nebby?"
The curiousity inside me has reached its max. Sa hindi malamang dahilan, gusto kong malaman ang katotohanan sa likod ng taong nagngangalang Nebby.
"One way to find out..." Nanatiling nakatingin si Headmistress Klaus sa daang tinalunton ng tatlo.
"What do you mean?" I creased my forehead.
Bumaling ang tingin ni Headmistress Klaus sa akin at tiningnan ako nang may pagtataka. "Isn't you've done eavesdropping before?"
Napatulala ako sa sinabi nya pero nang mag-sink sa akin ang sinabi nya... hindi ko napigilan ang sarili.
"Headmistress Klaus!"
Too late to take it back because I immediately gather the attention of everyone. Nakakahiya!
Meanwhile, "Hahahahaha..." Headmistress Klaus laughed as if there was no tomorrow. Nakuha nya rin ang atensyon ng lahat. "Yvester's right. Nothing beats your epic face."
As much as I want to throw a tantrum, I keep it to myself. Headmistress family is really ganging me up!
On the second thought, "This isn't funny, mom. You are stating it with yourself." Walang pakialam na pahayag bi Zauster.
Napatingin tuloy ako nang may pagtataka sa kanya. Is he saving me a face?
"Huhmm..." Headmistress Klaus cleared her throat. "Do you mean that?"
