SOMEONE - PARTICULARLY, HARRY  WAS KNOCKING (well, hitting the buckle over and over again) on Cassandra Black's backpack at 3 am in the night — that too in the middle of her therapeutic reading time.

"What is it?" she hissed, opening the flap to reveal Harry grinning like an idiot.

"Move aside, I've got goodies," he said, unable to wipe off his smile.

Begrudgingly, she moved aside — Cassie was hungry after all. Bertie and Bott's Every Flavoured Beans (her favourite candy) would eventually make you bored after a month of constant consumption. Getting actual food was a scarcity now considering Dudley, Harry's cousin, and his new diet.

"What have you got?" she asked, tucking her hair behind her ear after casting the muggle book of Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain (she'd stolen the book from Remus's collection and carried it with her before running off).

"Lots of stuff," he said giddily, climbing down the stairs Cassie's made with his hands piled with bags and boxes. There seemed to be a stack of letters as well. Cassie quickly ran to him, taking some of the load and putting it on her table (a milk carton increased in size and given extra weight and made sturdy; all of which was done before she ran away from the Lupin's cottage considering that casting magic would lead to the Ministry winding up at Harry's place).

"What's all this?" she asked puzzled, looking at the stuff piled up.

"Happy Birthday Cas," Harry smiled softly, an arm around his cousin (but as good as a biological) sister.

"It's our birthday?" she asked in a surprised tone.

"Do you want to use the Gemini Charm and get yourself a calendar?" Harry chuckled, making Cassie bury her head in his chest.

"Happy Birthday Harry," she smiled at him before tackling him with a hug.

Harry had brought the two of them some of Dudley's old party hats which Cassie adorned with great interest, having never had worn one before.

Together, the cousins slowly opened every letter and present.

Harry got five cakes each from Ron, Hermoine, Hagrid, Julianna and Sirius; while Cassie got seven — one from Julia and Remus respectively (they had a competition on who baked the better cake), one from Sirius, another from the Weasleys, a cupcake from Hagrid (they weren't that close), an apology/birthday cake from Hermoine and one from a source she refused to tell Harry about (no, it isn't Fred).

Apart from the cakes, they'd also gotten presents, little ones. Harry gave Cassie a walkman (another muggle gadget Dudley discarded despite being in good condition) while Cassie gifted him a drawing of the two of them.

Ron sent both of them little circular knitted patches with his initials (Mrs Weasley got him to do some knitting during the summer, much to his displeasure).

Fred had sent Cassie a two paged letter about why he loved and felt lucky to be her friend and how excited he was to see her in a time of few weeks for the Quidditch World Cup (that is if his father managed to secure the tickets; nevertheless, Harry and Cassie were to spend the last month of Summer at the Weasley's anyways).

Julianna sent her daughter a beautiful golden cloth with a note saying 'find your thing'. Cassie smiled as she ran her hand through the silk. She knew this idea had popped into her mother's head after seeing some dress designs in Cassie's book (the Black had been so surprised by Muggle Fashion sense when she'd gone to the market that fateful day, she began designing some outfits for wizards and witches, taking inspiration from muggle styles).
