EXAM SEASON WAS
Cassie's least favourite time of the year. She wouldn't even bother studying for the exams, having already done it before she even started school and as for the theory part, her photographic memory helped her with that.

Her second to last exam, Defence Against the Dark Arts was going particularly well. She was quite impressed with Remus's idea of an obstacle course for the examination and seeing her approving look, Remus couldn't help but feel a little bit prouder of his accomplishment.

Cassie was the sixth person to take the exam, crossing through all the obstacles with a flick of her arm, as if doing these courses was an everyday thing for her. At last, she stopped at the trunk inside which awaited the boggart. Taking a deep breath, she confidently walked in. The boggart immediately changed into Sirius lay bleeding on the floor in his Animagus form before quickly changing to Julia, fallen onto the floor, her hair scattered all over her face, her hazel eyes wide open, her body eerily still.

"Riddikulus," Cassie cast, trying her best to maintain a straight face. The dead figure of her mother immediately shifted into a torn apart scarecrow ( which was for some reason, Cassie's idea of funny ). Closing her eyes and taking a moment to collect herself, she stood in the trunk before exiting it with a weak smile.

"Brilliant Cassie," Remus smiled warmly, "Full marks,"

Cassie shrugged and hung around beside Remus waiting for Harry and Ron's turn. While Neville took the course ( which he was doing surprisingly well ), Remus asked out loud.

"Was it the same?"

"The Boggart?" Cassie asked, knowing the question was directed to her. Lupin's eyes didn't leave Neville as he waited silently for an answer from the girl.

"Yes, it was mum again," she nodded, her eyes trailing Neville along the path as well.

"How do you even know how she looks?"

"Crookshanks. He – er, unlocked some sort of memories in me,"

"Oh,"

Both of them stayed silent, watching Neville walk into the trunk with a determined look on his face.

"I owe you some answers Cassie," Remus said suddenly, whipping his head to his goddaughter who looked at him with a mildly surprised look.

"Today, in the evening, come to my office, will you?"

Cassie looked at him for a while, checking all his tells to see and know for sure he was being genuine with this invite. On noticing he wasn't lying, she nodded and turned her head away from her teacher and back to Neville who had victoriously walked out of the trunk, gripping onto his wand with a proud smile.

As for Cassie's Divination examination, it was ... peculiar, to say the least. Cassie walked into the room confidently and sat down in front of the crystal ball, looking at it for sights of the future. She looked at the Orb as the white gas slowly cleared and began forming shapes.

"What do you see my dear?" asked Trelawney, in her mystical voice.

"A dog," Cassie said after finally figuring out the shape.

"The grim?!" the teacher exclaimed, shifted uncomfortably in her chair.

"No, this is a dog. Surely a dog. Not the grim," she said firmly. The professor looked at her with a quizzical look before scribbling something down.

"What else," she continued, making Cassie begin focusing on the orb again.

"I ... words," said the raven-haired girl, suddenly worried, astounding herself with this discovery.
