CASSANDRA WOULD HAVE PROBABLY SPENT half an hour alone in Harry's room before she got company (if a tiny little owl counts as company). The Scoops owl (Pigwidgeon) swooped into the window carrying a letter addressed to Cassie and one addressed to Harry.Handing a treat to Pig, Cassie tore open her letter to reveal the familiar handwriting of Fred Weasley. It was rather messy (even messier than usual); as if he'd hurriedly written the letter so that it would reach the girl as soon as possible. The letter read:
CASSIE ! DAD GOT THE TICKETS — Ireland versus Bulgaria, Monday night. Mum's writing to Harry's. They might already have the letter, I don't know how fast Muggle post is. Thought I'd send this with Pig along with Ronnikins letter anyways.
We're going to get Harry either way; neither of you can miss the World Cup, only Mum and Dad reckon it's better if we pretend to ask their permission first. It's been so hard dodging the questions Mum keeps asking over your whereabouts. I locked myself in once because of it and George pulled the twin swap for three nights in a row. Surprisingly, it fooled Mum. Or maybe it was just because she was too busy obsessing about Percy's new job at the Ministry. Oh yeah, Percy's started work —the Department of International Magical Cooperation. Don't mention anything about Abroad while you're here unless you want the pants bored off you.
I'll see you on Sunday no matter what. I don't care if I have to break down another window of those Muggles - I'll do it if it means I get to meet the girl who didn't even bother to say goodbye to me (I'm just pulling your leg, don't take me seriously).
Love,
FreddiePS: I meant that I was teasing you about the goodbye part. Just wanted to make that clear. I will break windows if I have to, I'm one hundred per cent certain about that.
The stupidly stubborn smile etched on Cassie's face was not going to wear off soon. Things like this made her adore Fred Weasley more and more each time around.
Cassie rushed to grab some spare parchment and reply to Fred's letter when Harry dashed in, all happy and giddy like he had been that night on their birthday.
"Mrs Weasley wrote to Uncle Vernon!" he started at once, "And she covered the whole envelope with stamps. Oh, uncle was so furious. Anyways, the letter said they got the tickets for the quidditch cup and that I - well we - could stay with them for the rest of the summer too and UNCLE VERNON SAID YES! I'M LEAVING THIS PLACE SOONER THAN EVER!"
Cassie chuckled as Harry did a little silly dance around the room before he noticed the parchment and letter in Cassie's hand.
"What's that?" he asked, walking closer.
"Letter from Fred telling me about the tickets," she then handed him another letter, "Here's your's from Ron,"
Harry tore open the letter faster than Cassie had and hurriedly read through its contents before joining his sister in writing a response to the Weasley's.
Ron, it's all okay, the Muggles say I can come. See you at five o'clock tomorrow. Can't wait
- Harry
The Muggles are letting Harry go. See you at five o'clock tomorrow.
love,
Cas
Attaching the letters on Pidgwidgeon and sending the owl off, the two then sat to right to their guardians (Sirius, Remus and Julia).
