"The night is the hardest time to be alive and 4 am knows all my secrets."

~

It was too easy.

I've always loved playing the game, especially when I'm the only one who knows the rules to win. Her fathers told her, she's trying to ignore it, as am I. But with my father controlling everything, I had no other choice, if I want this to be my business and not my brothers, I have to do this.

I lie awake once again, staring at my ceiling wondering why I can't sleep. Insomnia is the difficulty of falling asleep or staying asleep. I've had it for as long as I can remember, the last proper sleep I had was nearly three years ago— and yet here I am, wide awake. Maybe one day I'll be able to sleep peacefully without the drugs.

My phone lights up next to me signifying a new notification, grabbing it, I'm surprised when I'm greeted with an unknown number.

ONE NEW MESSAGE - Hey, it's Lizzie, this is my new number, use it for Lit.

The message is quickly followed up by another,

LIZZIE - Just literature.

ME - Obviously.

Lizzie doesn't need to know my part of the plan yet, the plan that involves her father. Luckily she'll no longer have his name, thank god. Dominic Young doesn't know he's about to be played, he thought this arrangement would do our families some good— allow us to bury the blood feud. The idea my father approached him with was that we'd get him the information he needed, we'd also fix this election for him to win, and he would allow us to carry on with business without the police getting in the way.

How fucking naive.

It's a good job I don't feel emotions, yet, it's a shame that she does.

"Kian! Practice actually involves you moving!" Roma shouts as he runs over toward me and Alex

"Kian! Practice actually involves you moving!" Roma shouts as he runs over toward me and Alex. "I'm taking a well-needed rest," I say as Alex snickers beside me when Roma stops in front of us. "You've been resting for five minutes."
