"You and Kian?" Liv bursts into my room quickly followed by the girls.

"What?" I ask peering up from my book, Liv holds out the newspaper— the front page instantly stands out with the black bold writing with two images of me and Kian separately.

NEW YORKS HOTTEST COUPLE

"Oh, my," Em finishes it off, "God!" I reach my hand out for the newspaper which Em snatched from Liv to read aloud. "News York's elitist families combining power?" Em uses her reporter's voice, one she copied from listening to the news, "Kian Bliss has finally found the one— Does this mean his playboy days are over?" I take a deep breath, for a minute there I thought the press found out about the secret wedding— then the girls would have killed me. Not that I will ever be thankful for whatever Kian does, but he did switch my wedding ring, so I've now got a plain gold band that wraps my wedding finger. The girls wouldn't second guess it as I used to swear a ring on it before.

I make eye contact with Ele who shakes her head in disbelief as Liv watches Em read. "What will Dominic Young think of this arrangement?" Liv laughs, "arrangement? We aren't in the sixteen hundreds— what is this? Courting?" She jokes as Em continues reading the page, "sources say the two were always destined for each other."

"Sources?" Ele questions, "what sources?" Em asks her facial expression baffled. "I'm so confused," Liv speaks what we're all thinking. "That's it," Em says as she turns the page to find another story. "What the fuck?" Ele speaks first, "I..." I don't want to lie to them again, but I lie to everyone. "You and Kian?" Liv asks, edging closer to the bed, "yeah," I mutter before grabbing my phone from the nightstand. "Now," I clear my throat, "if you don't mind— I need to talk to him." The girls all exchange a look before Em passes me the newspaper, "thank you." They all offer a small smile before leaving the room, carefully shutting the door behind them. I wait a beat for their steps to retreat.

"What the fuck?" I ask as soon as the call goes through, "I'm guessing you saw the press," he mutters. I know he leaked it— "I thought..." I stop myself, confused over what I just listened to. "They don't know of the wedding?" I ask, "no, not yet."

"Did you?"

"Did I leak it to the press? No, I didn't leak it to the press," his tone dry as he speaks into the phone, I can already imagine him pacing his bedroom. Probably paranoid about what his father thinks. "Well, it's out now," I admit defeat, "fuck the media," he curses, his voice harsher than usual. "They won't tear us apart," no— because I'll do that myself.

He betrayed me once.

He'll only do it again.

At least this time my heart won't break, it's already done that.
