I ran.
I didn't know where I was going— all I knew is that I needed to leave. And quickly, I can't go through with it. Not even for my father, it won't.
So, after Kian fell asleep, I left. I got in my car and left, fuck knows where I was going to go— but I was going to have to figure that out. I've got nearly five grand on me, that should last around a week, with flights, and accommodation, plus food and everything else I need to run from Kian. I pull up to the airport, I don't care if people are watching and thinking why on Earth I'm as distressed as I am— I just need to get a flight out of America. Europe is my safest bet.
My phone buzzes as I run through the airport, I check the number to see it's Kian and that's my sign I need to be quicker. I turn the corner to run towards the counter to buy my next ticket out of here. Jesus, I should have really gone to the gym with Em because I'm so unfit, it's a joke.
I come to a halt at the front desk, the lady looks up and pulls a face of concern. "I need a one-way ticket, anywhere— I don't care, and I need to leave. Like now," I keep my voice to a low volume, the lady starts typing away on the computer but then the landline next to her rings. I watch in silence as she pauses typing to pick up the phone. Two minutes later she put the phone down and gives me a smile, "I'm sorry, what was your name again?" Oh, "Lizzie Young, I just need a ticket anywhere. Preferably Europe, I can pay in cash." I start to root around in my purse when the lady speaks again, "I can't do that."
I freeze, what? I glance up to see her discomfort, "what do you mean, you can't do that?" I ask in confusion, "my boss can't allow me to sell you a ticket." Her boss?
No.
It's too late, I turn to run when I spot Kian. As always he's dressed in black from head to toe, yet this time he's wearing a suit. "Kian," I speak carefully but I don't make my way towards him, "what are you doing here?" I shouldn't be asking him that question especially when he's looking at me like he wants me dead. I've never seen that look before. My gaze goes from his to the two guards behind him, "you left," he says in a monotone voice, I take notice of how there's no one else around. Knowing him he's probably shut this part of the airport down, peering back behind me I notice the ladies ran off.
Fuck.
"Where are you going, love?" He asks drawing my attention back to him, "I need a break," I answer instead of giving the truth. The truth is that I was running from my father, from him, from this arrangement. "What did I tell you yesterday?" He's baiting me, I know that— so I chose not to answer. Kian takes a step forward but his bodyguards stay back, he stops around an arms left away, "where ever you go— I'll find you." I hold my breath as he runs a finger down the side of my neck, "I'll ask again, where are you going?"
