"I'm guessing you'll be my groomsmen."

"Oh, so we are invited?" Hayden mocks as him and Alex continue to throw passes at each other. "Well, yeah. You guys are my closest friends, so," why do they always have to make it difficult? "Closest friends?" Alex asks as Roma laughs, "yes, what else would I refer to you as?"

"Best friends, brothers, family," Hayden lists them off on his hand and I know every single one is accurate. But instead of admitting that I just nod as I watch Coach talk to the youngers. "Whose the best man?" Roma asks as Hayden stops with the ball in his hand. "Kai," I reply. He doesn't know it yet, but he's going to be my best man. It wouldn't feel right having anyone else, even if this whole wedding is fake.

"It still blows my mind," Hayden says as him and Alex join me and Roma on the bleachers. "This whole wedding, then again it makes sense," Hayden remarks as he continues his explanation. "You've always joked about marriage, it makes sense that you're actually getting married." All the jokes I made, weren't jokes. They were serious, as is this union. My father's fucked, he's always looking out for his business, his empire.

A little while ago I found out my father's plans with The West, his whole idea of tying the two families, fuck. Kai won't go through with it, truth be told, I'm only going through with this union because it's Lizzie. But Kais, not me, he won't. My father is too blindsided by power, and wealth, that he doesn't understand that Kai will tell him to go fuck himself. Knowing my brother, he'll act out of rebellion, he'll do something idiotic to stop his arrangement from working. I remember when I found out my father's plans with The West, I told him to go fuck himself. Jesus, Kai is seventeen, and my fathers talking about Kai becoming my captain. We both know that Blake will be out of the picture, he'll take on foreign affairs, plus all the legal shit that needs to take place abroad. So, that leaves me and my brother to control this Famille after my father's death, and I wish it'd happen sooner than we'd all guess.

"Subtle hints," I mutter under my breath as I walk away. "Bliss! Where on earth do you think you're going?" Coach yells from across the field, instead of answering I put my middle finger up and walk away. I don't need football, I've never needed football. But the only way I could have lived with the boys at the captain's house is if I played. Thankfully, I have Roma who convinced Coach to keep me on the team. We all know it, Coach won't put me on the bench because I'm one of the best players on the team. The irony.
