5. The Law

No one's p.o.v

He shakes his head while glaring at the garden doors "Donatello" he says sternly before making his way outside. There were two of the three sons there as the younger one gave the oldest a five dollar bill. He smirks and puts it in his belt saying "nice doing business with ya" he called his pet over and they start walking around the yard. Yoshi on the other hand looks at his son a bit angered "Donatello... Donatello-" but he looks down at the ground. He noticed some fabric fall from Chompy's mouth as he and Raphael walked away, so he noticed it's part of the girl's pants.

"So this is why Princess Trina stormed out!" Yoshi says angered while glaring at Donatello, so he smiles saying "father, Chompy was only playing. He was only playing with that.. self-absorbed, overdressed Princess Trina" then he noticed Yoshi's face. Yoshi was still glaring at Donatello, so he looks to the side a bit to avoid eye-contact, so Yoshi sighs. "My son, you've got to stop rejecting every suitor that comes to talk - you know what the law is." Donatello sighs saying "oh, yes - that the most responsible must be wed.. by the age of eighteen."

Yoshi holds up a finger saying "which is your boys' next birthday!" Donatello sighs saying "the law is wrong!" Yoshi rubs his face a bit. "You only have three more days!" Yoshi says a bit worriedly, so Donatello walks towards the dove's cage. He opens one of the doors and gently grabs one saying "I hate being forced into this, father. If I do even want to marry someone this young.. I want it to be out of love, not for some stupid law." Yoshi was going to side hug Donatello, but felt like he shouldn't as he just looks down with his eyes closed.

Then he looks up at his son saying "Donatello, it's not only this law-" "oh yeah, it's also for our reputation after Leonardo magically disappeared. Along with our family friend April" Yoshi flinched a bit at Donatello's slight interruption. "I mean, that I am not going to be around forever... I just want to make sure you're taken care of." Yoshi then gently took the dove from Donatello's hands and puts it away, so Donatello groans. He walks away saying "father, Michelangelo is the one who cooks, I can fix things as Raphael knows how to fight."

Donatello walks back towards the fountain saying "I think we're all going to be okay, it just feels like I haven't done anything worthwhile. I'm always stuck within these castle's walls, always just doing what you think is best for me. I want to adventure! I never had any real friends, April started avoiding me because she thought I liked her." "Donatello, you are a prince" Yoshi says to his son, so Donatello wipes at the water when he seen Yoshi's reflection behind him. "Maybe I don't want to be a prince anymore" Donatello says annoyed while standing up, not facing Yoshi.

This got Yoshi groaning softly under his breath, then he starts walking towards the castle "no one leaves the castle's walls. You will all stay where it is safe!" Yoshi yells out before going back inside to go meditate and calm down. Donatello looks down at the ground in thought 'I am going to be just like these doves... free.' With that he smiles and the dove's cage and opens both sides of the cage, he watched as they flew away. "NOT MARY AND HER CREW!!" Mikey is heard screaming from the front yard of the castle.

-with Yoshi-

Yoshi looks at the picture he keeps in his meditation room, it was a picture of himself when he was human and his wife. She was... killed by an unknown source, but Yoshi sighs as he looks at the picture and sits down. "I don't know where he gets it from, his mother wasn't nearly as picky... neither was his eldest brother." A shadow looms over him, so he looks back and smiles saying "ah, Saki... dear brother, I need some advice." Saki just smiles as he says "what can I help you with, Yoshi?" Yoshi stands up while rubbing his face again.

"It's this suitor business, Donatello refuses to choose a wife - I feel as if I'm at my wit's end" Yoshi explains while trying to calm himself. Saki hums in thought before saying "I can most definitely think of something, but for a price." "Why do you work that way, brother? We're in the same family, everything that is mine is yours. Same thing goes for what's yours is mine unless we buy it ourselves" Yoshi asks confused and tilts his head. Saki smirks a bit before looking at Yoshi's left hand saying "then it's the price of one ring."

Saki's request got Yoshi's eyes to widen as he looks at his wedding ring "Saki... you know I care for you, but this is my wedding ring." "It is necessary to find the prince a suitor - don't worry, everything will be fine" Saki then held his cane close to Yoshi's face. The cane had a skull head on it, the eyes were swirling around hypnotically which got Yoshi. He parroted what Saki said last "everything.. will be fine" Saki then says "good, then hand over the ring." Yoshi starts to slowly take off the ring saying "yes, Saki - whatever you need will be.. fine."

Saki then pats Yoshi's shoulder saying "okay now, brother - go and meditate like you always do" "yes, I will meditate and be fine" Yoshi says a bit happier. Then he sits down and starts trying to meditate, so Saki starts walking out and deadpans at Yoshi's stupidity. Though he walks in silence as he walks towards the end of the hall where it's supposedly a dead end. He pushed a part of the wall in and a secret door opened, so he walked in and up the stairs. "Soon, I will be king instead of that cowardly rat!" Saki says to himself as he continued going up.
