24. First Kiss

"Louise's" p.o.v

"I can't go back to where I used to be~.." Donatello sang as we flinch and feel bad for the guy who coulda just really hurt himself.
"A whole new world~" "Every turn a surprise~" We sang as we're starting to come up on some mutants that are jumping rooftops.
"With new horizons to pursue!" "Every moment gets better!" We sang together as he high fived one of the mutants making the mutant chuckle. We finally start to leave New York and head towards the woods-
"I'll chase them anywhere
There's time to spare!
Let me share this whole new world with you~.." we sang together while sharing a look, but eventually I see an apple on a tree. I grab it before setting it on my shoulder and letting it roll down towards my elbow. Donatello easily caught it with a smile-
"A whole new world~.." "a whole new world~.." we sang together before reaching a small pond and he leaned over to let his hand skim over the water.
"That's where we'll be~.." "that's where we'll be~.." we sang together again before I look over my side at my own reflection.
"A thrilling chase~.." "a wondrous place~.." we sang as he leans over to my side and looks at our reflections too. Then we share a look as I lean my head onto his shoulder-
"For you and.. me~~" We sang together as we somehow locked our hands together and his head leans on top of mine.

At a certain point in time we found this place that was having fireworks go off, so Carpet let us sit down on the roof that's in the distance of them. We watch the fireworks as we sit in comfortable silence, every now and then I couldn't help but look at him. "It's so... magical" Donatello says as he's staring up at the fireworks, the colors illuminated his face a bit. I smile at the sight and say "yeah.." then he smirks while looking at the apple in his hand. Realization hit as I look up at the fireworks since I got caught looking and blush softly.

"It's.. a shame Kitty had to miss this" Donatello says softly which got me to chuckle softly at his words while shaking my head. "Nah, she hates fireworks... she doesn't really like flying either" I answer a bit before realizing what I said. 'Wait, Louise doesn't know Kitty!' I think as I say "uh, that is... dang it" there was no covering that up. I facepalm as I try not to groan at how stupid I could be, but Donatello makes me look at him. "You are the girl from the market! I knew it!! Why did you lie to us?" He asks as he softly glares at me.

I look at him saying "Donatello, I'm sorry-" "did you think I was stupid?!" He asks me frustrated, so I shake my head saying "no." "That I wouldn't figure it out!?" Donatello asks before poking my forehead again and crossing his arms. I hard swallow and shake my head again saying "no, I-I mean..." messing with my purse I mumble "I hoped you wouldn't." Then I realized how that sounded as I say "wait, no- that's not what I meant." Donatello's still glaring at me as he says "who are you? Tell me the truth" I twirl some of my hair around my finger again.

Nervously biting my lip I say "the truth?.." he motioned for me to continue as I stop biting my lip and just breathe in and out. 'I can't tell the truth- he'd still laugh at me' I think to myself as I say "the truth..." I look at Carpet for help. All he did was motion for me to talk too, so I look back at Donatello saying "the truth is.. I sometimes dress as a citizen. Just to... escape the pressures of castle life" then I nervously laugh saying "but I really am a princess." Donatello looks at me a bit confused "why didn't you just tell me?" Was his question.

I look down saying "well, you know... royalty going out into the city in disguise, sounds a little strange, amirite?" That was meant for him. He messed with the apple in his hands a bit saying "not that strange" then he playfully elbowed me. We share a look as he moves some of my hair out of my face that got there from looking around so much. I lean onto his shoulder as I close my eyes, he wrapped his arm around me as the fireworks are still going off. 'Everything will be okay as long as he still believes that I am a princess' I think happily as we sit here.

Eventually we realized how late it was getting, so we got back onto Carpet and flew back to his castle and towards his balcony. There's obviously two shadows behind the dividers in his room, but I'm guessing we're ignoring them. Carpet made an end of him into little stairs for Donatello to get off safely as I hold his hand and help him down. Once he was off Carpet straightened out and went down a bit while I'm still standing on him. "Goodnight, my beautiful princess" Donatello says while leaning on the railing, so I put some of my hair behind my ear again.

"Sleep well, prince" I say with my own smile while looking up at him, but Carpet had other ideas as he goes up and my lips are suddenly on Donatello's. Our eyes widen, but we start to close them as I set my hands over his as we lean into the kiss more. Though after a second Donatello steps back and I let out a small breath while looking up at him. He starts to walk towards his room where the two figures scramble to get out of view. "Okay, who wants punched first!?" Donatello yelled out as he runs towards his room.

Michelangelo screamed as Raphael laughed, so I chuckle softly before falling back and Carpet caught me before drifting slowly down to the ground. I put my arms behind my head as I say "for the first time in my life... things are starting to go right." While saying that I look up at his balcony, just hearing the playful sibling fighting from here. That's when hands grab me and I see Tigerclaw, Fishface and Rahzar all holding me in place as I'm on my feet. I barely got out of their hold for a split second, but I couldn't even get up before, but a cloth gets put over my mouth.
