11. A Lamp

Louisa's p.o.v

Kitty hides behind my head a bit as I nervously say "it's me, Louisa..." the head looked like it was inspecting me a bit "go on.." it tells me. That got me a bit shocked, but it adds on "touch nothin except the lamp.. or you will suffer a short life." It's mouth opened and I'm able to see inside, so I side smile at the sight of this. 'Man, this looks so cool-' "remember, dudette - get me the lamp, then.. you'll have your reward." I start going forward saying "let's go, Kitty" she hangs onto me out of fear as I start going down the stairs.

It was a long set of stairs, but at the bottom there was a doorway with light on the other side so bright I couldn't see what's inside. Kitty hid in my shirt as I keep going in, but once inside I see all of the treasure that sits here. "Would you look at that.." I say a bit amazed by it all sitting here "just a handful and I'd be richer than the king." Kitty looked so energetic as she sits on my shoulder again and was about to run to a pile. I grab her by her little shirt saying "Kitty!" She dangles in my hold as I hold her in front of my face.

Giving her a stern look I say "don't touch anything" she does a bit of a sad noise as I just put her down on her own feet as I stretch a bit. I keep walking as I say "we got to find the lamp" Kitty sounded a bit annoyed now as I walk. "Oh, stop being so prissy and just keep up" I tease as I keep walking and hear her little footsteps following. While we walk though I hear her stop which made me say "I don't see why you're pouting. The ground literally looks golden" she starts walking again, so I start going again too.

Though after another second she starts to chitter a bit while running, then she starts tugging at my pant leg while pointing for some reason. "Don't act scared to get carried" I scold her softly before I keep walking while trying to find the lamp. 'What's so important about this thing anyways?' I think confused as I keep walking. She made a few noises about something, but that's when she starts freaking out and tackles me. I struggle with staying on my feet until I end up falling while facing the direction we came from.

"What's with you right now?!?" I ask confused as she jumps on my back, but she made me look forward and I see a carpet acting like it's looking scared. That got me a bit shocked "sorry for being so mean, this is all just a bit shocking to me too. But.. that's a magic carpet" I say as I pet the top of Kitty's head, she coos a bit happily again. Then I walk towards the carpet and she hides behind my head a bit "it's okay, you can come out." I tried to reassure the carpet which worked as it comes close, Kitty starts sounding upset.

She's so upset that she shakes her fist at it while angrily chittering at it, so the carpet looks like it's slumping and walking away. "Hey, you don't have to go" I try to reassure it, so it looks like it looks back at me making me smile. Then I add "maybe you could help us" it motions to itself before flying over closer and stopping by me. I smile and laugh a bit saying "we're trying to find this lamp" it still looks energetic before starting to go across the room. Looking at Kitty I say "I think he actually knows where it is!" I run after it and avoid the gold out of fear.

It felt like we just kept diving deeper into the cave, everything seems like it's dark with a red light- the inside is way more cave like than before. After another bit we go down a tunnel, at the end it motions up and I see a giant pile of rocks. At the top is a ray of light, the path to the giant pile is just rocks on water, so I nervously bite my lip. Setting Kitty down I say "I don't want you falling as I go up... don't touch anything." I jumped from rock to rock all the way to the giant pile- that had stone stairs going up.

'How long has this cave been a thing for all of this to be here like it's some kind of prophecy?' I think confused as I start going up the stairs. I got to the top of the pile and see the lamp is literally under the ray of light here. Softly smiling I grab the lamp and pick it up... but it looks so ordinary "wow.. this is it. Don't know what's so special about it, but it's it at the very least" I say to myself as I hold it. Looking back I hold the lamp up saying "I mean, look at it-" but I see Kitty trying to get to something.

My eyes widen as I say "Kitty- NO!" She escaped from the carpet's hold and Kitty has the gem that was sitting there. "THIEVES!" That voice from the cave-head yells out "you have touched the forbidden treasure, dudes!" It yells out again. Kitty puts it back as the walls and everything start shaking "now you'll never see daylight again!" It adds. It looks like there's now a bit of lava down below as the place that had the lamp bursts up into flames. I start running down the stairs, but it turns into a bit of a ramp before moving up with me on it somehow.

I shriek as I slide down the ramp towards the lava 'oh wow, instead of dying in a dungeon Imma die in a cave full of lava.' Right when I was about to fall the carpet saved me, so I nervously laugh scared saying "thank you so much." We're flying around the air as I look down to see that Kitty was trying to get to me through the rock path. I hard swallow as I see she was close to falling since the rocks were sinking into the lava. I steer the carpet towards Kitty - we saved her at the best moment "gotcha!" I say as I hold her close.
