33. Backstory

Louisa's p.o.v

"Phenomenal cosmic powers!.. in an itty-bitty living space" I say as he's finally in the lamp and sigh in relief after all of this. Leonardo picks me up as he hugs me a bit saying "Weeza, you're a genius!!" I chuckle at this. From here I can hear Kitty since she changed back to normal, next was Carpet as he's back to himself too. When he came back he hugged Kitty a bit, so Donatello gets up and runs over to Yoshi's cage. There the cage disappeared before Yoshi fell since the cage was a bit of a distance from its floor to the actual floor.

Donatello helped him up as Chompy ends up growing back to his normal size and runs towards Raphael, who smiles and hugs Chompy. Everything starts to go back to how it was before Saki got the lamp... and Karai lays there still knocked out. Saki starts trying to yell for us to let him out, so I chuckle a bit as a hand gets set on my shoulder. Getting out of Leonardo's hold I look back to see April as she hugs me too and Leonardo gets Saki's lamp from me. "Allow me" he says as he goes away for a second "man, you did awesome, Louisa" April says happily.

Then she messed up my hair, so I chuckle a bit saying "well, all in a job's work of being a street rat - deceiving others and doing the right thing." Leonardo did something to the lamp, I didn't care to find out what, but I hear Yoshi walk up by me. His eyes get a bit teary as he says "Leonardo... April" they both look at him a bit confused. "How do you know our names?" April asks confused as Leonardo gets in front of April protectively. I was so confused "okay, I have a better question - how did they become genies anyway??" I ask out.

Michelangelo nervously laughs saying "I can answer that, dudes.. ya see, back when we were five I was playing with Leonardo and April. When we started playing in the dojo, we didn't know we went in there" Leonardo gasps. April looks like she's having a bit of a headache as Leonardo says "I remember now. Michelangelo wasn't paying attention to what was around him when one of the weapons on the wall wasn't placed right. I noticed and pushed him away from it... then April tried to push me away too, but she couldn't with her weak toddler arms."

April's eyes finally went wide before she gasps "we didn't make it..." "then how are ya genies??" Raphael asks while crossing his arms. "Yeah, I'm still confused" I agree with Raphael as Michelangelo looks down sadly. He sighs and says "I felt bad for what happened, I started crying while holding them close. That's when some type of bright light came and they were changing, dudes!.. the lamp appeared in front of me. Before I could grab it, it was floating and it went out of the room fast - that was the last I seen them."

Donatello wiped at his tears saying "why didn't you tell us, little brother?" "I didn't want you guys to be mad at me. I thought they were gone for good..." I look down before looking up at Leonardo and April. They were holding the other in a hug as I know what my last wish has to be out of everything. A hand is set on my shoulder again, so I look up and see Donatello standing right there with a soft smile. I gently take his hands in mine as I say "Donatello.. I'm sorry I lied to you about being a princess."

Then I look back at the royal family saying "I'm sorry to all of you for that lie" Donatello made me look at him as he caressed my face a bit. "I know why you did..." was his answer as he kept his hand there, so I set my hand over his. With that hand close to my face I peck his palm before saying "well, I guess this is goodbye." Donatello let's his tears fall as he says "that stupid law, this isn't fair" I nod saying "I know." I didn't want to look him in the eye as I look down, but he slowly lifts my chin up to look at him.

"I love you" Donatello says with a soft smile, I adjust my glasses as we share this look but in the distance I hear a few sniffles. "Weeza, it's no problem! You still have one wish" Leonardo says happily which got us to look back at him. April smiles too as she has her hand on his shoulder saying "yeah, just say the word and you can be a princess again." I let go of Donatello's hands and walk towards the genies to do the one thing I know I need to do. "Guys, you should have your freedom" I say as I know they even have a family that's here for them when they're out.

Leonardo chuckles saying "hey, it's only an eternity of servitude" April then shrinks down to my size as she looks human again. She pulls me over to Donatello saying "yeah, this is love - you're never gonna find a guy like him again." I playfully roll my eyes at that, then she moves back to be by Leonardo's side and I look at them. Breathing in and out I look back at Donatello and hold his hands saying "Donatello, I do love you. With all of my heart even... but I gotta stop pretending to be something I'm not" he moves some of my hair again.

He let a few tears fall as he says "I understand" with that I let go of his hands and look back at the two genies with a smile. "Guys, I wish for you to be human again" I say happily, they start stretching a bit now. April was the one to say "one bona fide princess, comin up!" Leonardo had realization hit though. He set his hand on her shoulder to get her to stop as he says "wait.. what did you say?" I chuckle softly. I pick up the lamp saying "guys.. you're free!" It starts to shine bright for a second or two.
