21. Prize?!

"Louise's" p.o.v

Carpet on the other tassel was stumbling around before falling causing Kitty to catch him as he now rests on her back. The king then pats my head a bit saying "you are a very impressive girl and a princess as well." Then he got towards Saki and whispered something causing me and the princes to share a confused look. Saki whispered something right back as Raphael points at me saying "I don't trust you, Louise." Michelangelo on the other hand says "she seems alright to me, dude... I feel like I seen her before though."

Before they could look at me closer the king talked louder which got our attention and I felt a bit relieved that he did or else they would've known. "Nonsense, one thing I pride myself on, Saki - I'm an excellent judge of character" were his words. I smile at this and adjust my dress a bit while looking down 'the king is actually really nice. I knew it!' I think to myself as I look back up the girl that pronounced my name wrong mumbled something to herself. "I think Donatello will like this one" the king says which got me to put some of my hair behind my ear.

"I'm pretty sure I'll like Prince Donatello" I say a bit happily, just trying not to swoon at the memory of when I first met him. "Your highness, no!" The girl says as she pulls me away from the king and Saki stands by him instead. He nods once saying "Karai is right, I must intercede on Donatello's behalf, this girl is no different than the others." I pull out of Karai's hold and grab Saki's arm to get him to look at me and he does. He may tower over me, but I smirk up at him "what makes her think she is worthy of the prince?" He asks while glaring at me.

I keep my smirk as I say "your majesty, I am Princess Louise Penumbra" then I wipe at a dirt spot on the top of his head. It now shines on his bald head as I say "just let him meet me, I will win your son" 'maybe talking big will make me seem cool.' "How dare you?" Donatello's voice got our attention as we look back to see he just walked in. 'Wait, he's mad?-' "okay, here comes the drama" Raphael says while elbowing Michelangelo softly. Donatello on the other hand didn't bother to look at his brothers as he glares at the rest of us.

"All of you! Standing around deciding my future?!" Donatello asks angrily which got us all to look away, but I look back at him. He's really death glaring at us causing me to nervously bite my lip "I am not a prize to be won." With that he walks back out, so I take a small step forward while reaching my hand out. Then I realized that he was right... while trying to impress the king and Saki I forgot to take Donnie's feelings into consideration. "Oh dear... don't worry, Princess Louise" the king says as he sets his hand on my shoulder.

Raphael then says "no, definitely be worried - Donatello doesn't get that made so often" then he chuckled before walking out too. Michelangelo on the other hand just says "man, I want some pizza!" Then he runs out. The king starts walking me towards the front doors saying "just give Donatello some time to calm down. And then we could see if he actually will like you" with that I walk out and just stay within the walls. I walk around in thought on what I could do to try and make it up to Prince Donatello.

Hours went by, but what ended up happening was the sky turned dark as the lights went on around the palace. Up above I finally seen which balcony is Donatello's as he's standing on it while looking out. I'm in a spot where he can't see me as I pace back and forth, still just trying to think on what to say. Every now and again I reach up to adjust my glasses just to realize that being a part of Louise Penumbra- I don't have them. Kitty kept struggling with opening a banana as Leonardo is playing chess with Carpet.

April is trying to give me ideas every now and then, but none of them seemed right- "what am I gonna do? Donatello won't even let me talk to him. I should've known I couldn't pull off this princess wish" I say as I run my hands through my hair. "So move" Leonardo says as he waits for Carpet to make his turn, then I'm guessing he did a good move. I never really got into knowing how to play chess, so I have no idea who's winning right now. Leonardo looked a bit shocked as he says "that's a good move.. I can't believe it- I'm losing to a rug."

I chuckle a bit at that as April stands in front of me with her hands on my shoulders "it's obvious you need some help, Louisa. Here's the deal - if you want to be with Donatello, you gotta be straight with him, you got it?" She asks me. I deadpan at her saying "huh??" Leonardo pulled April away from me as he poofs up a chalkboard. On it says exactly what he's saying and it's underlined twice "tell him the- truth!" The last word was on the other side of the board. It looked as if it was in gold writing somehow, but I walk over and wave the magic board away.

"Okay, bad idea!" I say before adding "if Donatello finds out I was really some... crumby, street rat - he'd laugh at me." April then says "girl, sometimes a guy just appreciates someone who can make him laugh." She makes a funny face while standing in front of me, I sigh and push her way by her forehead. Leonardo set a hand on my shoulder causing me to look up at him as he sighs softly at me. Then he says "Weeza, all jokes aside..." April stands by him before they share a look "you just gotta be yourself" they say together.
