Chapter 26

Chad and Jeremy came home two days later.

Chad was still pretty thin so it was alright. 

"While you guys were gone, we planned a little more of the wedding" said Sam.

"Oh, great" said Jeremy.

"That performance worked out okay I presume?" said Calvin.

"Yeah, it was alright" said Chad.

All three kids gave him the "really?" look.

"I'm serious. Well... it was mostly alright" said Chad.

"Mostly?" said Sam.

"Yeah. It's that... when we're on stage, I feel normal. When we step off, I'm nauseous. I just thought me baby was just applauding from inside my belly" Chad explained.

"Well. At least the kid loves what its father does" said Sam.

"Unless it was waiting till your song was done so it could purposely nauseate ya" Charles Wallace joked.

"Oh, please don't say that, Charles lad" said Chad.

"Sorry, Chad" said Charles Wallace. 

"All the same, we don't know what a baby does when it's inside you" said Jeremy.

"And I don't think we wanna know" said Sam.

"Alright. So, Chad, we were thinking about your wedding. We want it to happen while your skinny" said Calvin.

"Oh, what a world. This wedding used to matter because of how much I love Meg and now it's all filtered through my weight" said Chad.

"It won't be if we can figure things out" said Charles Wallace.

"As it is, it's gonna be hard" said Jeremy.

"Don't worry about it. If anything happens, you got your pals to help. That's us of course" said Sam.

Chad laughed and said "Thanks, kids. It really helps".

"Our pleasure" said Sam.
