Chapter 37

"Just hang in there, Chad. Calvin's got it" said Meg.

"Calvin, my chest hurts! Hurry!" Chad sobbed.

Calvin kept on working until it was safe.

"I think I got it. I got it" said Calvin.

"Okay, Chad. You got it. Push" said Meg.

"You got this! You're doing so awesome!" said Sam.

Chad pushed for another few seconds.

"Oh, lord! We almost got it!" said Calvin.

"Holy nuts! Holy nuts!" Sam shouted.

"Take us home!" Charles Wallace encouraged.

"One more! One more!" Meg sobbed.

Chad pushed one more time and his second baby was born.

"Charles Wallace, quick. Gimme the scissors; gimme the scissors!" said Calvin.

Charles Wallace did as he was told and Calvin snipped the cord.

"Well, Calvin?" said Sam.

"Well... another daughter" said Calvin.

"Oh my gawrsh..." said Sam.

"Chad! Chad, what's wrong?" said Meg.

"Are you alright?" said Charles Wallace.

Chad was laying down with his eyes closed.

"Sam, you said that juice would just have his baby faster, not kill him!" Meg sobbed.

"It never usually does" said Sam.

Calvin felt Chad's heart.

"No. No, he's just sleeping. He's gonna be okay" he said.

"Sweet. Now, Meg, what are you gonna name these kids?" said Charles Wallace.

"I dunno. I'm just trying to take in everything that's happened today. My fiancee just had twins" said Meg.

"Yeah. It's great ain't it?" said Sam.

"Hey, Calvin, you had twins, right?" said Charles Wallace.

"Yeah. It was terrible. I love those girls, but having them was a disaster" said Calvin.

Chad woke up and said "Are me babies okay?"

"They're fine. Actually, they're more than fine" said Sam.

"Yeah. All we need to do now is name them" said Calvin.

"I've had two names in mind since I found out I had two girls" said Chad.

"Oh yeah? What?" said Sam.

"This one is... Idina" said Chad.

"Hey, that's a good one" said Charles Wallace.

"And the other?" said Calvin.

"The other... is Kristen" said Chad.

"Idina and Kristen. Adorable" said Sam.

Meg and Chad kissed. 

"I can't believe you did this" said Meg.

"I can't either, my sweet. But I did" said Chad.
