Chapter 23

The next day, Meg woke up early to go to work.

Chad woke up around the same time to meet Jeremy at the airport.

"So where are you flying to today?" said Meg.

"Florida" said Chad.

"That is a long flight from here. Are you sure you wanna do this?" said Meg.

"Yeah. I'm fine" said Chad.

"Okay then. But I'll still be worried about you. If anything happens, call me immediately" said Meg.

Chad nodded and said "Okay."

"Okay" Meg repeated.

She kissed her fiancee goodbye and headed for work.

Chad then got dressed and headed for the airport.

The other three kids were there with Jeremy.

"How do I look, kids?" said Jeremy.

He was wearing his performing suit.

"Looking good, J dawg" said Sam.

"Thanks, Sam." said Jeremy.

Chad heard the conversation and said "What about me?" as he walked toward them.

"Still skinny" said Sam. 

"And looking great, Chad the lad" said Jeremy.

"Now. If anything happens..." Calvin began.

"Call Meg. I know" said Chad.

"But if she's not around, give the Three Warriors a call" said Charles Wallace.

"Got it" said Chad.

He and Jeremy got on the plane while the kids stayed home.

"Now what?" said Charles Wallace.

"Now we wait for them to sound the Warrior siren" said Calvin.

"Cal, who's to say they will. Maybe everything will turn out fine" said Sam.

"I hope so, Sammy. I don't want this whole thing to ruin my sister's wedding" said Charles Wallace.

"Oh, yeah. Jeremy went through the performing process, but a wedding takes planning. It could take Chad's entire pregnancy" said Calvin.

"Oh... this is bad" said Sam.

"We'll figure something out" said Calvin.

"Maybe we should suit up now" said Charles Wallace.

"Not yet. The Warriors don't spring into action until something happens. So we still need to wait" said Calvin.

"Okay. But we'll be listening for the siren" said Charles Wallace.
