Toby shuffled his way into Algebra, taking a seat at his usual desk. He dropped his bag on the floor making a boom, this made most of the classroom turn to look at him. Toby paid no mind to his classmates opening his textbook.

A finger softly tapped him on the shoulder, Toby turned his head to see who wanted his attention. He stared back at a boy who had medium-length black hair hiding under a beanie.

"Hey dude, you ok?" The boy asked him, his face concerned.

"Yea," Toby sighed. "Just friend issues"

"Ah yea, I get it." The boy nodded his head. "My friend Nick is always getting into arguments with me, disagreements all the time."

"Yea, friends suck sometimes." Toby sighed.

The boy stuck his hand out to Toby. "I'm Alex" The boy gave a warm smile.

"Toby" Toby shook the boy's hand. "Wanna hang out with me and my buds after school? I saw you in the halls today looking pretty upset and I know since you probably are having a tough time with your friend I-" Alex rambled.

"That'd be great" Toby smiled. Toby hadn't really hung out with anyone in senior grade before, except for Tommy's friend Wilbur, so he wasn't sure what to expect but he'd rather go hang out with them than be stuck in his thoughts over Tommy.

"You can sit with us at lunch too if you'd like" Alex offered.

"Sure!" Toby exclaimed. It wasn't hard for Toby to blend into new crowds or to make friends easily being the extrovert he was.

"Great!" Alex smiled genuinely at Toby before looking back at his textbook.

The bell rang signaling lunch, Tommy walked slowly out of class making his way to the cafeteria. He hung his head low trying not to make eye contact with anyone, he didn't want anyone to see him like this.

"Tom, wait up"

It was Wilbur, but Tommy couldn't care less about him right now so he kept walking trying to ignore him. "Tommy!" Wilbur called after him again. Tommy quickened his pace trying to get out of his friend's sight, but it was too late.

"Tommy" Wilbur stepped in front of him. "Fuck your long stupid legs" Tommy muttered. "Why are you trying to avoid me?" Wilbur asked him confused.

"Because your prick ass got me and Toby in a fight" Tommy spoke irritated.

"What are you on about?" Wilbur gave Tommy an irritated look.

"Nothing" Tommy scoffed and turned to walk the other way. Wilbur walked after him.

"Tommy, I'm not trying to be an ass but I really don't know why you're blaming me for a fight when you won't explain it to me" Wilbur explained as they both came to a stop at the boy's restroom.

"Wilbur, your stupid ass incident is driving me insane. I don't even know what to do with myself anymore and Toby can tell" Tommy explained with an angered expression. Wilbur hadn't seen him this serious since the incident.

"And I couldn't tell him how I really feel because how am I supposed to explain what you did?" Tommy's voice rose. Wilbur stayed silent, his face drained of color. "Whatever mate, forget you" Tommy stormed into the boy's restroom, the door slamming behind him.

Wilbur was frozen in place. All his memories flooded back to him in an instant. "I... I..." He muttered trailing off. He dropped to the floor, it was cool against his legs. The halls were empty, his mind started wandering.

"Wilbur why?!" Tommy screamed, he lunged onto his friend's back trying to keep him away from the door.

Wilbur shoved him harshly off onto the floor. "Stop it, Tommy! You're in my way!" He maliciously yelled in Tommy's face. Tommy's face was petrified "Wil you can't! please!" he screamed.

Wilbur ignore his friend's pleads and shoved the door open. Tommy scrambled to his feet grabbing a hold of the knob before Wilbur could close the door. "Step off Tommy!" Wilbur shouted. "No, I won't let you do this! You won't do this to yourself, to me!" Tommy sobbed, his eyes were filled with fear. Wilbur stopped for a moment, looking back at Tommy, but then he shook his head, forcing Tommy's hands off the knob.

'Wilbur no!"

"No no no" Wilbur shook his head his eyes filling with tears. He tried to grab onto something, anything, but nothing nor anyone was there to grab.

"Wil!" A voice rang through his head. "Wil!" There It was again, Wilbur really wished his thoughts could just shut up.

"Wilbur!" He felt something touch his arm, he turned his head slowly. Turns out the voice wasn't in his head, it was Dianne.

"Wilbur are you ok?!" Dianne panicked bending down next to him. "Dianne.." Wilbur looked up at her, his voice small. "Wilbur, what happened?" Dianne stared at him worryingly. Wilbur snapped out of it, he rubbed the back of his head. "Oh uh, I'm fine really" He stated not really sure of his statement. "No, I don't think so" She took a seat next to him.

"Now, tell me, what's the matter?" She asked, her concern growing.

"I uh, was just kind of having a bad memory come up, panic attack kinda" He tried explaining.

"Hey, it's ok alright? You want me to take you to the nurse? Maybe you can go home early?" Dianne suggested.

"That won't be necessary" Wilbur shook his head. "I just want to sit here for a second."

"Ok... well, do you mind if I sit with you? I don't want you to be alone after that" She put her hand on top of his. Wilbur immediately looked down at their hands.

Dianne noticed him staring "Oh! sorry- I just-" she scrambled moving her hand off of his.

"No, please, it's ok" Wilbur reached over to her hand and gently held it, smiling softly "Thank you"

"Oh-" Dianne couldn't help but get flustered. "I'm glad I'm here to help. I just- I was on my way to the cafeteria and then I saw you drop to the floor so my reaction was to rush over and-" Dianne tried explaining before letting out a sigh. "My point is, you really worried me."

"I'm sorry Dianne, I'm really sorry. Let me treat you to lunch" Wilbur offered.

"No no no," Dianne quickly replied. "I'm gonna treat you to something. Wilbur, you can't be treating me to something, silly"

Wilbur chuckled fixing his hair. "You're really something Dianne"

"Well I hope that's a good something" She smiled helping him up.

"Oh, it definitely is." Wilbur smiled softly, still holding Dianne's hand.
