[ SEQUEL TO RUN AWAY ]
The squad of five now had a sixth member, and the friends were happier than they could ever be. Three oblivious of what had happened, and three keeping the secret to themselves. It was finally going back to normal until... It...
“My winter nights are taken up by static Stress, and holiday shopping traffic But I close my eyes, and I'm somewhere else Just like magic”
What's so special about Christmas? I wondered the answer to that question. It was the end of Christmas Eve and I did have my share of fun - in fact - I had a lot of fun. I got an amazing pair of shoes as my Christmas present which I had wanted for so long, minus the fact that Koreans think it's a taboo to gift shoes because apparently whoever you gift it too will run away. Thankfully, my parents weren't one to believe in that kind of a stupid logic.
Besides that, we had a lovely family dinner. Too bad that not all of us could be together. Everyone had gone with their families and Yeonjun had gone to visit his orphanage to play and help the kids with the Christmas decorations out there. I visited them for a short time, before it was time for me and my family to go for our big family reunion where I was literally stuffed with the most delicious food ever.
It was a fun day but stressful regardless. My eyes felt so heavy that it felt like if I closed my eyes even for a second, I'll fall asleep and not wake up for the next two weeks. I had my homeworks but they could wait, for as soon as I hit my pillow, huddled up in my fluffy warm blanket, the wave of slumber washed over me and the last thing I remember thinking before passing on to my dream land was how I wished for my best friends to be here for Christmas. Somehow...
“In my heart is a Christmas tree farm Where the people would come To dance under sparkling lights Bundled up in their mittens and coats And the cider would flow And I just wanna be there tonight”
"Hyun Ae..." I heard a whisper. "Wakey wakey~"
I groaned and shuffled in the comfort of my blanket, pulling it over my head to block the out that voice. However, it kept ringing in my head. Wait... Isn't that Yeonjun's voice!? That's what he always says when he tries to wake me up! But what is he doing so late at my house—
"Yeonjun what are you—" I stopped in my tracks, gradually losing my speech when I finally sat up. I was in a beautiful town with lush green mountains, with its tops covered with snow. A crispness to the air but warm regardless with the sun shining so bright. This place...
"Wake up! We're in Magic Island! We need to decorate that tree up there! Come on!!!" Yeonjun chuckled as he ushered me out of bed. No- that's not a bed. That was a freaking white fluffy cloud I was sleeping on. My eyes widened and I was further surprised to see that I was wearing such a cute outfit too. It was like I came straight out of a brilliant fantasy book. What was more thrilling was that I didn't feel cold. It felt... Amazing. Like a new me, with a new boost of energy and confidence.
