Hope's POV:

"Hey.." I said once Lizzie came into view. She looked terrified to be here with and suddenly I almost regret calling her in here. "Can you do me a favor?" I asked softly. She nodded, still not saying a word. "Hand me the truth crystal off my dresser please?" I asked politely. She grabbed it and handed it to me. "Lizzie.. Please say something.. anything... I don't care if you tell me you hate me again.. Just say something... please.." I begged. Her silence is way worse than any words she could say. "I didn't mean that. I'll show you.." She said, grabbing the crystal. It glowed blue meaning she was indeed telling the truth. "Now I have a question for you.. Someone said something to me about it and I just want to know if you ever really meant it." She said before handing the crystal back to me. "Did you ever feel anything remotely close to love for me? Was the rooftop date or all the dates in between that fake? Were you only using me to get back at Josie for cheating on you?" She asked and I didn't have to think. "Yes I did and I still do. The dates were real. This was real.. for me this was all too real. I never felt the way I feel about you for anyone else, not even Josie. You were the reason why I came back here after I ruined everything." I told her, the crystal glowed a bright blue that neither of us had seen. I'm going to have to ask Josie about that.

"I'm sorry for what I said that day Hope. I knew it would hurt you so I said it because I wanted you to feel just an ounce of the pain I did. As you can tell, just like everyone else, I have missed you so much. It's actually depressing how much I cried for you. I thought for sure you were never going to come back to me. I thought after what I said to you, I figured you believed that I meant it. You know you're my hero. You've died literally twice now to save everyone and I'm assuming all the monsters that were detected then erased over the map was you coming to help us, right?" She asked and I laughed. "Ok, yeah that was me. Not the smartest idea but I couldn't just let the people I cared about get hurt. I wanted to protect everyone but..." I started to say but was cut off when I heard someone scream. I listened closer and it was Josie.

"Lizzie, Josie in trouble. The garden. I'm taking you to your dad and you guys can meet me there." I told her, getting up but having to catch myself on my nightstand. "Wait.. Hope you should be resting. I can take care of this." She said, worry lacing her voice. "Liz I'm good. I'm not going to let someone get hurt because I made a deal with the devil." I said, grabbing her and running before she could fight me on it. I made it Dr. S and left her with him before running to get Josie. I could hear everyone in the school starting to get ready. Josie was tied up against a tree and I ran over to her, snapping the ropes quick. "Siphon me. You need your magic." I told her and she did what I said. I could feel her take enough. I looked around and I didn't see anyone. I listened closely to the noises around me. I found Josie's heartbeat but there was a second one coming fast.

"Move Josie!" I yelled as Clarke ran behind her. She jumped out of the way and I grabbed Clarke, throwing him in the same tree Josie was tied to. "Hope! Be careful. He has a dagger." She yelled from a safe distance away. He stood up and pulled it out. "Why don't we settle this the old fashion way? Fight to the death. Right here, right now. You kill me and you live or I kill you and I live a long happy life with an amazing family that you will never have." I traded with him. He smirked, "You do know if I die, you die as well right? We're connected now Hope. You can't kill me without killing yourself in the process." He said and a part of me knew he could be telling the truth. "Hope! No!" Josie yelled. "Deal." I told him. "Let's make this ten times better and I kill you in front of your entire family." He said and I knew he wanted to make this personal. "Fine. Have it your way. Meet at the gym in an hour." I told him. "See you at your funeral Mikaelson." He said before running off to where it was he was going.

I turned around and everyone was standing there. Lizzie was staring at me and Dr. Saltzman looked like he was extremely worried for my mental health. If only they knew what happened to me out there. This would seem like child's play. "Hope are you insane?!" Lizzie and Josie yelled at the same time. I was more afraid of them right now than I was about my pending death. "No I'm not. There is a 50/50 chance that he's lying. Gather everyone together to appease him and I have an hour to get myself better enough to fight to the death." I said as I walked away. I stoned everything up inside. I've gotten quite used to that. My father had a lot of enemies and I met a lot of them in the span of 3 months. I made it to my room and closed my door. There is absolutely nothing that I can do to make me strong enough for this.
