End Of Year 1

Last day of your first year.
We sat where we usually sit in the great hall when we feast. However, this time the great hall was decorated with green and black. The ceiling dropped slytherin flags as a way to celebrate the slytherin house. This was happening because we won the House Cup. Everyone in slytherin was proud.
Professor McGonagall grabbed our attention by hitting her knife on a crystal cup. Dumbledore stood up. "Another year gone. And now as I understand it, the house cup needs awarding." Dumbledore started. "The points stand thus:
In Fourth Place
Gryffindor with 312 points
The hall was filled with slow claps here and there.
In Third Place
Hufflepuff with 352points
The sound of claps filled the hall.
In Second Place
Ravenclaw with 426 points
The Ravenclaw tabled softly cheered.
In First Place
With 472 points, The Slytherin House
The hall filled with great cheers from my table. They were banging on the table and yelling in joy.
"Yes, well done slytherin, well done slytherin. However, recent events must be taken into account, and I have a few last-minute points to award." Dumbledore started. Oh god here we go. "To Miss Hermione Granger..." "For what being a smartass." I say to Draco and he chuckles. "For the cool use of intellect when others were in grave peril. 50 points." Dumbledore says. What?! That should be cheating! The hall filled with claps "Second to Mr. Ronald Weasley..." I couldnt bare to listen to the rest of it. Weasley got 50 points for "best chess game played" and Potter got 60 points for "pure nerve and outstanding courage." At that point we were tied already. "To Mr. Longbottom." UGH. I put my head down. That's it we lost. He gave him 10 points for standing up to his friends. He changed the decorations and Gryffindor had won.

All the other tables erupted with cheers. I threw my hat down on the table and laid my head down. I can't wait to go home.
