Why? Draco Malfoy X Reader

Year 4: The Question

Draco, Crabbe, Goyle and I were heading to the arena which is where the first task was being held.

"Bets! Make bets!" The Weasley twins yelled as they carried a box that was strapped to them. We walk passed them and I was able to see the arena.

"This is such a long walk. My feet are starting to hurt." I complain. "Relax, we're almost there." Draco says as he pats my back. We eventually arrive to the entrance of the arena and we take our seats. Almost the whole castle was there. We actually had a good view.
It honestly felt like a dam. It was covered with huge boulders and an golden egg was placed in the middle of the rusty field.
One of walls opened up and a large dragon walked out of there. It loudly roared.

"Woah! A dragon. They weren't kidding when they said it was dangerous." I say as the dragon lowered its roar.

The sound of the cannon shot out and the crowd cheered. They chanted "Diggory! Diggory!" Cedric Diggory stepped out and the crowd went even more wild. As the crowd died down, he started fighting the dragon for the golden egg.

All 3 champions were able to get their golden eggs. The last one that remained was Potter. He walked out with the crowd going crazy. "Boo!" Crabbe yelled. "Get out of here. You don't deserve to be a champion!" I yell.
"He's a cheat!" Goyle yelled. "Take a walk!" Draco yelled. We kept on yelling insults until the crowd died down.

Potter ran up to the golden egg but the dragon stopped him with his tail. As Potter tried to take cover, the dragon roared and fire came out of his mouth. That was so close to getting him.
So.
Close.
He summon his broomstick and was able to dodge the fire. He flew up towards the castle. The dragon rips off it's chains and follows him.

I couldn't see anything but I heard the dragon's roared. At one point it turned into a whine. Then it was silent.

"Is he dead?" Crabbe said like an idiot. Then we saw a flying thing coming towards us. It was Potter and he finally retrieved the egg.

A couple days after the first task, it was announced that there was a ball coming up. I loved the idea of dressing up and dancing the night away. We were being taught how to dance because they didn't want us to make Hogwarts look like a fool. I also automatically had a date already. Draco. Oh the ideas I have for the Yule Ball. I better start shopping for a dress.

. After classes were done .

I was sitting in the great hall reading a book for an Essay, when Crabbe and Goyle appeared.
"Y/N, Draco needs you." Goyle said in a stiff way. Crabbe nods in his idiotic way. "Um, Ok."
I said hesitantly. I knew they were up to something. It was  a choice if I should trust them or not. As we were getting closer to the Forbidden Forest, they said to close my eyes.

"Uh, no." I told them. "Please! Draco said for us to tell you to close them!" Crabbe said and Goyle hit him in the stomach. I roll my eyes and say, "ugh, fine. But I swear if this is a joke, im not trusting either one of you anymore."

I close my eyes.

They take me out somewhere and the floor turned crunchy because of the leaves.
Then I heard fast footsteps fainting away from me. Did they-
"Crabbe? Goyle?" I yell. No answer. "I'm going to open my eyes!" I yell. No answer. I swear they are going to get it when-

I open my eyes.

That's when I see red rose petals on the ground. Were these for me? I follow them around a corner.

I walk in to see a few floating candles lit around Draco. He was holding a single red rose.

What is this? the bachelor?

I walk up to him and he grabs my hand.
I smile. "Y/N...You've made me happy since the day I first met you." He started.

What the- I'm shaking. What's going on? My mind was racing.

"And I wanted to ask if you would accompany me to the Yule Ball?" He says nervously. "Of course, I would love to." I say.
He hands me the rose and he pulls me in for a kiss. We walk hand in hand back to the castle and we walk to our common room.
"I'm going to put this in water. I'll be right back." I tell him. "Ok love." he says. I give him a quick kiss.

I come back and he's there on the couch talking to Crabbe and Goyle. "Hey guys." I say referring to Crabbe and Goyle. "They were just telling me that you wouldnt close your eyes when they told you to." Draco laughs. "I mean did you see who I had to trust?" I say referring to the two cubby boys. They looked hurt but in the end I told them I was only joking.
I grab Draco's hand and all of us go down to the Great Hall. We went there to study. Well more to play around. We started throwing paper balls around the Great Hall and at Gryffindors.
After, we went out to the courtyard to get some fresh air.
"Look theres Weasley." Draco gestured to the redhead near the Beauxbatons girls.

He suddenly turned to Fleur Delacour and yelled "WILL YOU GO THE YULE BALL WITH ME?"

I gasp lightly as I watch the drama unfold.

Fleur was a bit taken back and ignored him.
She scurried away with her friends.

Weasley looked embarrassed and shook.

We all laughed as he was taken back into the castle with his friends.

. Day of Ball .

My mum was sending my dress, shoes, and a couple of accessories. I was up early so I went down to the great hall to eat breakfast.

I saw Draco there so went to sit with him.

"Hey Draco." I say as I sit down next to him.

"Hey y/n." he says as he kisses me on the cheek. I start grabbing some breakfast as Draco and the rest continue their boy talk.
As I was finishing my sausages and pumpkin juice, o/n came in with a big black package. She landed and I petted her. "Whats this?" Draco asked. "It's my stuff for tonight." I answered.

Draco started to pet o/n's head. "Draco, be careful, she-" But I was too late because o/n bit Draco. "Bloody hell!" He winces. "Are you okay? Her bites are violent." I say. "Yeah, i'm fine she barely caught me. It's just a little scratch." Draco says. "Here." I take a napkin and I wrapped it around his finger to stop the bleeding.

"I'll be fine." He told me as winced a bit.
"Keep it wrapped and the bleeding should stop. Sorry about that." I apologize as I kiss him on the cheek.

"I'm going up to my dormitory. I'll see you tonight." I tell him. I grab the box and tell o/n to go to my dormitory.

I put my package down on the floor and checked the clock. Its 10:36am. The ball doesnt start for 8 more hours. Ugh, this waiting has me exhausted. I flop down onto my bed.
Then I heard a "hoo." I look up and see o/n by the window. "What did I say about biting people? Don't bite people, o/n." I demanded.
I patted her head and told her she could go.

I flop back down onto my bed.

I felt my eyes heavy and droopy. I should take a nap.  I put my alarm to ring at 2pm. I looked up to the ceiling til I fell asleep.
